THE OPPORTUNITY As part of our Actuarial, Analytics and Reporting team based in Sydney, you’ll play an important role in turning data, insights and analysis into better business outcomes. You’ll work alongside experienced actuaries, analysts and developers, gaining valuable exposure to how data and analytics support decision-making across EML. As an Associate Business Analyst, you will support our Actuarial, Analytics and Reporting team within EML Solutions, working alongside actuaries, developers and Power BI specialists to support the delivery of analytics, reporting and business initiatives.

THE OPPORTUNITY
As part of our Actuarial, Analytics and Reporting team based in Sydney, you’ll play an important role in turning data, insights and analysis into better business outcomes. You’ll work alongside experienced actuaries, analysts and developers, gaining valuable exposure to how data and analytics support decision-making across EML.
As an Associate Business Analyst, you will support our Actuarial, Analytics and Reporting team within EML Solutions, working alongside actuaries, developers and Power BI specialists to support the delivery of analytics, reporting and business initiatives.
In this role, you’ll help keep the team’s day-to-day workflow moving, while building your business analysis skills and gaining exposure to actuarial, analytics and business intelligence work. You’ll suit someone who is highly organised, communicates clearly, enjoys working with stakeholders and is confident following things up to keep work on track.
This will be a permanent, full-time position based in our Sydney office, with work-from-home flexibility.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and track the team’s workflow across projects and business-as-usual activities
- Capture and document stakeholder requirements, turning requests into clear written briefs
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, capture actions and follow up outstanding items
- Maintain team workflow tools including Jira and/or Microsoft Planner
- Maintain the team’s SharePoint site, documentation, registers and templates
- Build relationships with stakeholders across claims, finance, technology and senior leadership
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve team processes
- Provide updates on workflow, outstanding actions and priorities as required
ABOUT YOU
- 0–3 years’ experience in a business support, project support, coordination or junior analyst role
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep work moving
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Confident following up stakeholders, including senior stakeholders, to ensure actions are completed
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation and record keeping
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
- Comfortable working independently, prioritising competing requests and asking questions when needed
- Willingness and aptitude to learn tools such as SharePoint, Jira and Microsoft Planner
- Experience in financial services, insurance or a technical/analytical environment is advantageous but not essential
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, commerce, information systems or a related discipline is desirable but not essential
