The Opportunity

DBS Bank is looking for a motivated and skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic Data Chapter within the Institutional Banking Group (IBG).

This role offers an exciting opportunity to build and deliver cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (AIML), Generative AI (GenAI), and Agentic AI solutions that address critical business needs within the Institutional Banking domain.

 

Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist in IBG Data Chapter, you will:

• Understand & Define Business Needs: Understand business concerns, objectives, and high-level business operations. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to get things done, securing clear problem definitions, operational levers, and success metrics.

• Lead Solution Development & Implementation: Independently or collaboratively develop, implement, and deploy advanced AI/ML, GenAI, and Agentic AI solutions tailored to IBG's specific business requirements. Ensure you are familiar with AI/ML techniques, capable of implementing models, and able to interpret and explain model results to stakeholders.

• Manage End-to-End Project Lifecycle, Scope and Governance: Drive data science projects from problem definition and data exploration through to model deployment while adhering to project scope, timelines, and AI model governance

• Data Discovery & Engineering: Leverage internal tools like Collibra to find data, perform SQL queries in Superset and DBS frameworks (i.e., DALI), and build well-structured code incorporating linting, unit tests, and Git version control.

• Technical Integration & Code Quality: Collaborate with tech teams to integrate and deploy AI solutions, review code, and maintain documentation as a habit.

• Drive Innovation & Think Ahead: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML, GenAI, and Agentic AI, proactively thinking one step ahead to identify and champion strategic applications within IBG.

 

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering) is required.

• 3+ years (commensurate with rank) of relevant experience in AI or data science.

 

Expertise & Skills:

• Deep AI/ML/GenAI Domain Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (AIML), Generative AI (GenAI), and Agentic AI concepts and methodologies.

• Proactive & Results-Driven: Possess a proactive "can-do" attitude, consistently striving for excellence and committed to delivering high-quality, impactful solutions while thinking one step ahead. Being resourceful with end-to-end critical thinking to find out solutions even in unfamiliar scenarios.

• Clear Communication: Articulate complex technical concepts and model interpretations clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Continuous Learner & Growth Mindset: Demonstrate a strong desire for continuous learning, staying current with emerging AI/ML technologies and best practices, and embracing personal and professional development.
