BUSINESS UNIT: Crane Pumps & Systems (CP&S)

DEPARTMENT: Sales                                                                  

SEGMENT: Process Flow Technologies     

REPORTS TO: FP&A Manager                                                      

                                                    

BASIC FUNCTION:

Crane Pumps & Systems (CP&S) creates innovative pump solutions for the effective and efficient transport of wastewater. The Business Analyst will report directly to the FP&A Manager while serving as a shared business resource across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance. The Business Analyst is a strategic growth role responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and advancing wastewater infrastructure opportunities across North America. This position leverages advanced data analytics, funding-source intelligence, market research, and internal sales insights to uncover high-value lift station and wastewater projects that align with Crane Pumps & Systems' growth initiatives. Additionally, this position will conduct market research to identify and evaluate Tier I commercial lift station packagers, helping expand Crane Pumps & Systems’ packaging network.

The role serves as a critical link between market intelligence, channel partners, Regional Sales Managers, engineering influencers, and project development efforts by transforming data into actionable opportunities that drive engineered specifications, demonstrations, quotations, and project wins.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Report directly to the FP&A Manager, while supporting data and reporting needs across all areas of the business
  • Conduct market research to identify and evaluate Tier I commercial lift station packagers
  • Develop and maintain data-driven models that identify and rank states, regions, and municipalities with the highest growth potential.
  • Consolidate internal leads, market intelligence, funding opportunities, and channel partner insights into a centralized opportunity-tracking process.
  • Provide market intelligence and project insights to Regional Sales Managers, channel partners, and sales leadership.
  • Deliver recommendations that support strategic market expansion and resource deployment decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or improve reporting processes to increase efficiency and scalability
  • Document reporting processes and data sources to support transparency and knowledge sharing
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in business analysis, data analytics, finance or related focus (Co-op or internship experience may be included)
  • Knowledge: Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to communicate analytical insights clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of data literacy
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests across functions; High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Collaborative, service oriented mindset with a desire to support business partners across the organization
    • Curiosity and motivation to continuously learn the business and improve analytical capabilities
    • Ability to respond with a strong sense of urgency and care to customer requests, inquiries, and problems
  • Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Analytics or related degree
