Job description

Business Development Manager – Talent Data Solutions – Italy About the Role We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive the growth of Aon’s Talent Data Solutions business in Italy, focusing on selling our market‑leading compensation data, surveys and associated platforms. This role combines initiating new business opportunities with the expansion of relationships and revenues within an assigned portfolio of existing clients. You will be responsible for developing a strong pipeline, leading the full sales cycle and positioning Aon’s Radford McLagan Compensation Database and related solutions to HR and Compensation & Benefits (C&B) leaders. Working directly with local and EMEA colleagues, you will assist Italian organisations in using compensation data. This will improve reward decisions and support their wider talent and business strategies. Key Responsibilities New Business Development Proactively identify, research and qualify new sales opportunities for our Talent Data Solutions (compensation surveys, databases, platforms and related services). Build and run a robust pipeline of prospects through outbound prospecting, networking, events, partnerships and referrals. Prioritise high‑potential targets and implement the commercial plan for Data Solutions in Italy with a clear focus on acquiring new clients. Lead the end‑to‑end new business sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, solution positioning, proposal development, dealing and closing. Engage with executives and key decision‑makers (HR Directors, C&B Leaders and Finance leaders) to understand their strategic compensation and rewards needs and position Aon’s solutions accordingly. Develop strong product and market knowledge to clearly articulate our value proposition and differentiation in complicated situations. Account Management & Growth Lead a defined group of current clients, acting as a trusted advisor on Rewards Data Solutions topics. Deepen relationships with key partners, growing client happiness, loyalty and long‑term retention. Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities within existing accounts (e.g. additional survey participation, new geographies, complementary advisory support) and convert these into concrete commercial actions. Regularly review account performance and usage of our data solutions, sharing insights and recommendations to support clients’ decision‑making. Coordinate with Client Success, consulting and product teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing value for clients. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting Collaborate with internal resources (Rewards Business Leader, consulting, product, marketing, operations and other business lines) to design and deliver effective solutions for prospects and existing clients. Prepare and deliver impactful sales presentations, proposals and contracts tailored to each opportunity or account. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date information in our CRM (Salesforce), including leads, activities, opportunities and sales, ensuring reliable pipeline visibility and forecasting. Collaborate with our business areas and regional teams to generate cross‑selling opportunities and chip in to common objectives (Aon United). Required Experience Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing or related fields. At least 3 years of prior commercial / sales experience, ideally in roles combining client acquisition and account management. Experience in technology, software or data‑driven solutions sales is a strong advantage. Strong understanding of Human Resources, especially in Compensation & Benefits or Rewards. Proficiency in Office 365; familiarity with CRM tools (ideally Salesforce). Valuable knowledge of data analytics, AI‑based sales support applications and commercial prospecting tools. Fluency in English (C1–C2); many sales processes are conducted in English and in collaboration with other European colleagues. Knowledge of a third European language is a plus. Desired Profile Strong commercial drive and hunter mentality, combined with experience in championing and growing existing client relationships. Consistent track record in achieving sales targets and developing long‑term client accounts. Client orientation and consultative selling skills, with the capacity to understand client needs and translate them into tailored solutions. Ability to work in a team and coordinate with different partners across the business, both nationally and internationally. Critical thinking and adaptability in sophisticated and changing environments. Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to communicate efficiently with different Aon areas and with other business producing offices in the Aon global network. Proven dealing skills with clients, including at executive level. High level of proactivity, dynamism and resilience, with a pragmatic, problem‑solving attitude. Clear and fluent communication when presenting solutions and results, in both Italian and English. What Makes This Opportunity Different This role offers the opportunity to sell the gold standard in compensation data, working with Aon’s Radford McLagan Compensation Database and related solutions that are trusted by leading organisations worldwide. You will combine new business development with strategic account growth, having direct impact on how HR and Compensation & Benefits leaders in Italy use market data to shape their reward strategies. You will work closely with local and EMEA teams, gaining exposure to a broad range of clients, sectors and geographies, while developing deep expertise in data‑driven rewards solutions. With strong support, recognised products and clear commercial objectives, you will have both autonomy and visibility, and a platform to accelerate your career in a growing, high‑potential business. The expected salary for the role is within an indicative range of €37.000 - €55.000€, based on the candidate's experience and seniority. Office: Milan, Via Ernesto Calindri 6 2576176
