Description

** This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. The schedule for this role is Monday to Friday. 8am to 4:30pm. This role is a hybrid model, with majority of work being work from home, with some office time required. Travel to hospital locations in the North, Northwest and South suburbs would be required. Main location for onsite work would be at Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital. **

The Charge Analyst reviews, analyzes, and coordinates charge master activities for the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes clinical and coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant charge items and to recognize and resolve billing inconsistencies.
  • Analyzes content of system-generated reports and software edits to facilitate revisions with appropriate clinical departments.
  • Serves as liaison to the appropriate Epic Team concerning medication charges and billing.
  • Participates in departmental auditing processes as requested.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Preferred:

  • 1 year of related experience preferred.
