Risk Management is responsible for protecting the Group’s and Bankwest’s interests by offering insightful risk leadership and a commercial yet independent approach to managing risks. The Board and Regulators trust Risk Management to be the line of defence that ensures returns are achieved within an acceptable level of risk.
Your responsibilities will include:
Analyse portfolio performance and credit risk trends to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
Extract, manipulate and analyse data using tools such as SQL, R, SAS, and Python.
Support regular monitoring and deep dives across retail credit portfolios, translating analysis into clear insights and recommendations.
Assist in assessing changes to credit strategies, policies and processes and their potential impact on customers and portfolio risk.
Assist with setting of credit risk appetite across Consumer Finance products.
Develop and maintain risk reporting, dashboards and analytical tools to support effective decision-making.
Consider changes in the economic, regulatory and competitive environment when assessing portfolio risk.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Risk Management and the broader business on credit risk initiatives and projects.
Communicate analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Use AI-assisted and analytical tools to support efficient analysis, coding, documentation and insight generation.

Are curious, willing to learn and enjoy working in a highly engaged team environment.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills and can collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Can think creatively, adapt to change and manage competing priorities.
You may be a recent graduate or have up to 1–2 years of relevant experience in credit risk or data analytics role.
A degree in Data Analytics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Programming or related quantitative disciplines will be highly regarded.
