About the Team / Business Unit This role sits within our client's Infrastructure and Digital Workplace Services organization, delivered by Cognizant as part of an updated enterprise support model. The team is responsible for the Database & Data Platform tower, working closely with security, service management, and business stakeholders to keep the client's technology estate resilient, secure, and future-ready across Finland. About You: You bring hands-on expertise across Microsoft SQL Server and other enterprise database platforms, with a strong track record in performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, and database security. You are comfortable working within ITSM-driven change, incident, and problem management processes, and enjoy solving complex, production-critical database issues. Your Key Result Areas: • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, migrate, clone, and decommission supported database platforms. • Operate Microsoft SQL Server and, where in scope, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB environments. • Monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, jobs, storage, and replication. • Manage backup and recovery, restore validation, high availability, clustering, replication, and DR tests. • Tune SQL, indexes, queries, memory, I/O, and database configuration using approved diagnostic evidence. • Administer database security, service accounts, users, roles, privileges, encryption, auditing, and compliance controls. • Resolve incidents and problems, support P1/P2 restoration, produce RCA, and execute controlled changes through ITSM. • Automate routine administration through PowerShell, T-SQL, PL/SQL, shell, Python, or approved tooling. • Maintain CMDB records, SOPs, build standards, support documentation, and operational runbooks.
