Drive the execution of data governance across large-scale initiatives. This role sits at the center of improving data quality, strengthening controls, and enabling teams to manage data effectively. Influence outcomes by ensuring data is governed with consistency and accountability. 

As a Vice President in the Data Governance team within the firmwide CDO, you will be responsible for working with stakeholders to define governance and tooling requirements and building out the Firmwide Data Lineage framework. The firmwide team also collaborates with governance Subject Matter Experts, stakeholders in LOB and Corporate Functions CDO Offices to deliver this governance framework.  In addition, you will be responsible for driving the adoption of the firmwide CDO framework by the LOBs and Corporate Functions CDOs.
 
The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for accelerating the firm’s data and analytics journey. This includes ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the company's data, as well as leveraging this data to generate insights and drive decision-making. The CDAO is also responsible for developing and implementing solutions that support the firm’s commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to develop new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management effectively and responsibly.

Job responsibilities
  • Partner with CDO office to drive adoption and rollout of firmwide Data Lineage framework by supporting the documentation of data lineage for critical data flows 
  • Develop and promote best practices for metadata management, data lineage, and data quality controls 
  • Provide advisory services on specific complex lineage initiatives through focused business and technical architecture analysis 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify tactical and strategic resolution paths including ownership and timeframes for completion 
  • Build strong partnerships with Technology and Controls Organization, Product and Data Owners, LOB/CF CDO Leads, Compliance, Legal, and other stakeholders 
  • Facilitate working groups and workshops to drive firmwide strategies, address challenges, and manage risks and issues  
  • Monitor, measure, and report on data lineage governance metrics and compliance  
  • Support the broader Data Governance team’s strategic initiatives and goals

     

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 10 years of industry experience with a strong data, analytics or product background  
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data lineage, data publishing and metadata management concepts and methodologies  
  • Hands on experience with Data Lineage including Critical Data Element identification, metadata capture and tracing CDEs across the data lifecycle  
  • Experience with industry standard tools like Collibra, Alteryx or Databricks  
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams 
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills including the ability to resolve conflict, create consensus, and to make effective decisions as a team

     

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 
  • Experience and technical knowledge of data management and governance, big data platforms, or data architecture is preferred 
  • Experience in data quality within a large financial institution 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field. 
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data quality and data governance
