Job Overview
The Data Lead - Design translates business requirements into scalable data models and technical solutions. Advanced solution design, architectural judgment, and ownership of complex design outcomes. This role performs advanced professional work requiring discretion and analytical judgment in the design of data solutions. The position independently evaluates alternatives, recommends architectural approaches, and owns design outcomes but does not have primary people management accountability.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design data models, hierarchies, and end-to-end processes
- Lead solution design for new capabilities and integrations
- Collaborate with IT on architecture and implementation
- Ensure alignment with governance standards and business needs
- Document data flows, structures, and technical designs
- Support data modeling and process mapping
- Assist in translating business requirements into design inputs
- Maintain data definitions, relationships, and metadata
- Support testing and validation of new designs
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Deep functional expertise in data governance, design, enablement, or operations
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and lead complex work
- Analytical problem solving and systems thinking • Decision making under ambiguity
- Advanced communication and influencing skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of education beyond high school in college or technical school
- One to up to three years' of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Must possess Initiative, Curiosity, and be Self- Driven
- Strong technical skills in working with and understanding systems, file structures and databases
- 1-3 years in data modeling, MDM, or system design
- Strong operational and process knowledge
- SQL and database knowledge
- Process mapping and documentation
