Job description
Location: London (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Data & Analytics | Type: Permanent
Help financial institutions design intelligent, trusted and future-ready data ecosystems.
The Role
As a Data Management Consultant, you'll join Capco's Data Strategy & Advisory team, part of our global Data Practice of 1,000+ data professionals. You'll work with leading Financial Services clients to design, implement and embed modern data management capabilities that support scalable, sustainable and data-driven transformation.
This role blends strategic advisory with hands-on delivery, supporting clients as they adopt AI-enabled, automated and adaptive data management operating models. You'll help organisations build trusted data foundations that enable AI at scale while ensuring governance, transparency, human oversight and regulatory compliance remain integral to every solution.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement AI-enabled data management frameworks, defining AI use cases, business requirements and intelligent workflows while working with technology teams to configure AI-powered data management capabilities and agentic solutions.
- Enable AI-ready data by establishing standards for metadata, business glossaries, taxonomies, data products and semantic layers that support both trusted business consumption and AI model interoperability.
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering and platform teams to design target-state data architectures that enable scalable AI-driven data management capabilities and modern data ecosystems.
- Define governance guardrails, controls and operating models that enable the safe, transparent and effective use of AI within data management, ensuring appropriate human oversight, auditability and regulatory alignment.
- Deliver and embed core data management capabilities, including data governance, ownership, data quality, metadata, lineage and stewardship, while supporting organisational adoption through stakeholder engagement, change management and continuous improvement.
Beyond client delivery, you will also:
- Contribute to Capco thought leadership, exploring how AI, intelligent automation and agentic capabilities are transforming enterprise data management across Financial Services.
- Support the evolution of Capco's data management propositions, methodologies and reusable assets that accelerate delivery and improve client outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience delivering data management, data governance, data quality or enterprise data strategy initiatives.
- Experience working within Financial Services, ideally delivering data management transformation programmes in regulated environments.
- Practical knowledge of industry data governance frameworks such as DAMA, DCAM or CDMC, with an understanding of how they support AI-ready organisations.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise data management capabilities, including data quality, metadata management, lineage, stewardship and operating models.
- Familiarity with leading data management platforms such as Collibra, Solidatus, Ataccama or Informatica, alongside an understanding of modern data and AI platforms, governance practices and responsible AI principles.
Bonus Points For
- Experience implementing AI-enabled or automated data management capabilities, including intelligent metadata management, AI-assisted governance or agentic workflows.
- Understanding of regulatory and governance frameworks such as GDPR, BCBS 239, the EU AI Act, model governance or ESG reporting requirements.
- Experience supporting vendor selection, target operating models, business cases or strategic roadmaps for enterprise data initiatives.
- Experience working in Product Ownership or Product Management roles, including backlog prioritisation, stakeholder engagement and the development of internal data products or AI-enabled capabilities.
- Consulting experience leading small teams or workstreams, with knowledge of AI risk management, explainability, traceability, model controls and governance within regulated Financial Services environments.
Why Join Capco
- Deliver high-impact data and analytics solutions for Tier 1 financial institutions.
- Work in a collaborative, flat, and inclusive consulting culture.
- Access continuous learning, training, and industry certifications.
- Be part of a team shaping the future of intelligent data management.
- Help define next-generation data capabilities across Financial Services.
Benefits
- Core Benefits: Discretionary bonus, competitive pension, health insurance, life insurance and critical illness cover.

- Family-Friendly: Maternity, adoption, shared parental leave, plus paid leave for sickness, pregnancy loss, fertility treatment, menopause and bereavement.
- Family Care: 8 complimentary backup care sessions for emergency childcare or elder care.
- Holiday Flexibility: 5 weeks of annual leave with the option to buy or sell holiday days based on your needs.
