Our Payments Data and Analytics team is responsible for delivering high impact insights to help grow our payments business, driving our Payments data strategy, and creating innovative data-driven products for our clients and internal partners. We combine data science/AI/ML expertise, consultative problem solving, design thinking and a deep understanding of technology to drive value.

As a Data Scientist in the Payments Data and Analytics team, you will collaborate with our global data science and product teams to deliver high-impact AI and analytics use cases and build data-driven products that help internal sales and product teams sell more effectively.

Job responsibilities:

  • Explore how money moves through our network and around the world, partnering closely with teams that sell, build, and deliver Payments products (including consumer-to-business payments, FX, trade finance, liquidity and more) to translate data into insights that shape the strategy and direction of JPMorgan Chase products.
  • Collaborate with product managers to design and deliver internal, data-driven products and build robust data assets that power scalable analytical solutions.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate agentic AI workflows to improve efficiency, decisioning, and execution.
  • Apply a management-consulting approach to identify, size, and prioritize use cases - grounded in impact orientation, strong business understanding, program management discipline, and executive presence.
  • Combine rigorous analytical thinking with hands-on technical skills to design solutions and push approaches toward best-in-class outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and deliver insights that increase revenue and improve client outcomes.
  • Communicate complex concepts with clarity and concision, tailoring messages appropriately for internal stakeholder and executive audiences.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 4+ years of experience delivering data science and analytics solutions, from problem framing through production deployment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern data/analytics platforms and tooling (e.g., Databricks, PySpark/Spark, SQL) and data visualization/BI tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Working knowledge of AI-powered solution development, including LLM fundamentals, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and MCP-style integrations.
  • Experience building on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), including deploying and operating data workloads in cloud environments.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a track record of building trust-based partnerships across teams and functions.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and building agentic AI solutions
  • Experience in payments, financial services, fintech or other technology-enabled industries
  • Background in management consulting is a plus
