As an Agentic AI Data Scientist at Kyndryl, you’ll help shape the future of advanced agentic AI while working with a team that’s leading the industry. We're solving real-world problems at a massive scale, powered by creativity, precision, and a shared obsession with what’s next.

You’ll be part of a team shaping the future of agentic AI - architecting and scaling a next-gen open-source framework that powers autonomous systems.

What you will do
Shape Transformation
•Impact at scale: Drive Kyndryl as an AI-native company using your ideas and IP to shape transformation.
•Solve meaningful challenges: Serve as the bridge between deep technical work and business transformation, identifying solutions to problems using agentic AI.

Collaborate to Innovate
•Be a team player: Collaborate with top-tier talent in a true builder’s environment, where everyone contributes equally. It’s ideas over titles.
•Think in code: Expect rapid demo cycles, collaborative peer pairing, and framework rollouts in weeks.
•Have a customer-first mindset: Balance advanced programming with strategic thinking and customer interaction.

Build and Deploy
•Progress to production: Translate business needs into data science problems with autonomy - then rapidly experiment, build, and deploy solutions that scale.
•Own the lifecycle: Develop, train, and deploy intelligent agents using tools like Python, Azure ML, focused on dynamic, self-improving systems.
•Architect open source infrastructure: Work on and co-own (not just code, but design, product thinking, and customer success) a modular, open-source agentic AI framework - integrating GenAI and real world tools.

Inspire the Next Generation
•Share your expertise: Mentor and inspire a new generation of researchers and developers - from PhD students to business leaders - with your contributions credited and published.
•Elevate your profile: Be an industrial PhD supervisor and co-author whitepapers, publishing as a key contributor with 2nd or 3rd attribution.

Who You Are

Required Skills and Experience
•PhD or equivalent research experience in computer science, mathematics, AI, or a related field
•Hands-on agentic AI engineering exposure - building or contributing to frameworks, not just using APIs
•Strong programming fluency (Python) and architectural design (e.g. microservice ecosystems, message brokers)
•Ability to operate independently and collaborate within a high-trust, low-hierarchy team
•Contributions to academic/technical communities and shaping open-source projects

Preferred Skills and Experience
•Certifications in Azure, AWS, or Google ML platforms
•Demonstrated contributions to graph theory, DevOps, or distributed systems
•Previous projects involving digital transformation, AI-native product development or enterprise automation
•Presence in academic or whitepaper communities (authorship, publication or presentation)
