What’s the role?
As a Director, Data & Intelligence - Legal, you will transform Legal’s data, AI and technology capability by establishing trusted data foundations, reusable solutions and intelligent automation. You will partner with Legal leaders and subject-matter experts to identify and deliver high-value opportunities that improve legal service delivery, productivity, decision-making and control.
Additionally, you'll lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable and production-ready solutions, including GenAI, retrieval, agents, workflow automation, APIs and system integrations. You will provide technical leadership across the full solution lifecycle while remaining hands-on when required to build, productionise and troubleshoot solutions.
You will ensure all data, automation and AI solutions comply with enterprise security, privacy, Responsible AI, risk and governance requirements. By partnering across Legal, DDAI, Technology, Data, Architecture, Security and Risk, you will drive measurable value, strengthen controls and support the safe, scalable reuse of enterprise capabilities.
What do I need?
- Extensive experience across Legal, Legal Operations, Legal Technology, data, AI or technology-enabled transformation in large, complex organisations.
- Strong understanding of Legal operating environments, workflows, service delivery and information risks, including confidentiality, privilege, privacy and records management.
- Proven ability to partner with senior Legal leaders, lawyers and subject-matter experts to translate Legal priorities into practical technology solutions.
- End-to-end delivery experience across data, AI, LegalTech, workflow automation, document management and knowledge management solutions.
- Strong technical capability in modern data platforms, data engineering, SQL, Python, APIs, backend services and system integration.
- Practical experience delivering production-ready GenAI and LLM solutions, including RAG, agents, embeddings, vector stores, orchestration and grounding.
- Strong technical leadership, stakeholder influence and commercial judgement, supported by expertise in Responsible AI, security, governance, CI/CD, testing and monitoring.
