Xcel Energy is seeking candidates to support our System Planning Modeling & Analytics Organization, specifically, within our Electric Distribution Modeling & Analytics team in Denver, CO. The paid internship provides an opportunity to showcase your abilities in an engineering team which develops and maintains electrical circuit models used for planning and analysis of the distribution grid and supports utility goals such as electrification, reliability, and grid modernization by improving model accuracy, automation, and data quality. The program provides practical work experience to develop your existing skillset, present to senior leadership, and collaborate with key internal stakeholders. Each intern will be relied upon to play a role in achieving department objectives and goals. The program will allow you to apply what you’ve learned in school and further enhance your knowledge through hands-on training and provide opportunities to network and learn with other interns across the organization. 

Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
· Participate in validation and analysis of SCADA measurement data. 
· Contribute to utility planning activities. 
· Gain an understanding of GIS, EMS, CIS and other critical utility systems. 
· Power systems modeling, hosting capacity analysis, and time series data analysis.
