Job description

Job Summary

•    The Governance Effectiveness Analyst supports the delivery of effective committee governance and governance improvement initiatives across the organization. Working closely with governance leads, business stakeholders, and risk partners, the analyst will assist in enhancing governance practices, improving committee effectiveness, and promoting adherence to governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
•    This role provides an opportunity to develop expertise in committee governance, stakeholder management, risk governance, and governance consulting while supporting strategic governance initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

Committee Governance Support
•    Support the planning, coordination, and governance activities of committees, forums, and working groups.
•    Assist in reviewing governance processes, committee structures, and governance documentation to identify improvement opportunities.
•    Contribute to governance simplification and optimization initiatives.
•    Assist in maintaining governance documentation, templates, guidance materials, and committee records.
Stakeholder Engagement
•    Build effective working relationships with business, function, risk, and governance stakeholders.
•    Coordinate with committee secretariats, forum stakeholders, and subject matter experts to support governance activities.
•    Facilitate information gathering and follow-up on governance actions and deliverables.
•    Support stakeholder communications and preparation of governance updates and presentations.
Governance Frameworks, Policies & Risk Management
•    Develop an understanding of governance frameworks, risk management principles, policies, standards, and controls.
•    Support governance reviews to ensure compliance with internal governance requirements.
•    Assist in identifying governance process gaps and improvement opportunities.
•    Work with Risk, Compliance, and Governance teams to support governance oversight activities.
•    Help monitor governance actions and escalation items for committee reporting.

Governance Reporting & Analysis
•    Collect, analyze, and interpret governance data to provide insights and reporting.
•    Maintaining governance registry accuracy, taxonomy, ownership and lifecycle data. 
•    Assist in preparing governance dashboards, management information, and committee effectiveness reports.
•    Support tracking of governance actions, decisions, and committee outcomes.
•    Identify trends and opportunities to improve governance processes and reporting quality.

Continuous Improvement & Governance Excellence
•    Support governance enhancement initiatives and governance operating model improvements.
•    Contribute to the development of governance standards, procedures, and best practices.
•    Assist with implementation of governance-related transformation and change initiatives.
•    Promote consistency and adherence to governance standards across committees and forums.
