Description -

Job Summary

This Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis, governance, and business partnering support for the company's Capital Expenditure and Investment portfolio. This role works closely with Operations, Engineering, and business stakeholders to evaluate capital requests, develop robust business cases, and ensure investment decisions are aligned with strategic and financial objectives.

The individual is expected to understand various types of capital expenditures, assess financial returns through ROI and payback analyses, provide guidance to requestors on financial requirements, and effectively articulate investment proposals throughout the approval process. The role also monitors capital spending, tracks purchase order commitments and actual expenditures against approved budgets, and identifies risks or variances requiring management attention.

In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst supports key financial planning and reporting activities, including monthly close, actuals reporting, flash forecasts, and annual budget planning. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to translate financial insights into business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate CAPEX requests to ensure alignment with business priorities and financial objectives.
  • Analyze investment proposals, including ROI, payback, and financial impact assessments.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to develop and refine business cases for capital funding requests.
  • Guide requestors through the CAPEX approval process and ensure compliance with capital governance requirements.
  • Prepare financial presentations and recommendations for management review and approval.
  • Track purchase order commitments and actual capital spending against approved budgets.
  • Monitor spending variances and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate financial risks.
  • Support monthly actuals reporting, flash forecasts, and annual budgeting exercises for capital expenditures.
  • Maintain CAPEX forecasts and provide visibility into capital investment performance.
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Minimum of Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in financial management, internal audit, accounting, or a related field.
