About Global Merchandise Sourcing
Global Merchandise Sourcing team handles all Home décor and stationery development and production of Disney’s consumer products end to end. The team handles costing from Art design sheet, sample creation, tech approvals and eventual bulk production and shipment of these products to the global Disney Parks and Disney Stores. We manage and work with our vendor source base and collaborate with our Disney Design and Merchandising teams on day-to-day level.
About the Role
The Intern, Merchandise Sourcing & Data Operations provides structured support to the Global Merchandise Sourcing team. This developmental role offers exposure to data tracking, production monitoring, and foundational sourcing processes under close supervision. The Intern will assist with operational reporting and contribute to a guided improvement project focused on enhancing product development tracking visibility.
Responsibilities:
Data Tracking & Reporting Support
- Assist in maintaining production tracking reports and KPI summaries.
- Support monitoring of sample development milestones and highlight exceptions for review.
- Consolidate supplier updates into standardized tracking formats.
- Support preparation of weekly business review materials.
- Ensure accuracy of data entries in PLM and internal tracking files.
Sourcing Operations Exposure
- Assist in tracking sample submissions, testing timelines, and production updates.
- Help prepare cost comparison worksheets under guidance.
- Observe supplier discussions to gain understanding of sourcing workflows.
Guided Project – Product Development Tracking Enhancement
- Develop, under supervision, an Excel-based Product Development Tracking Record file.
- Follow up and track the development sample submission between vendor and the product development team
- Incorporate structured milestone tracking with color-coded status indicators (On Track, At Risk, Overdue).
- Create summary views using pivot tables to support internal visibility.
- Document file logic and prepare a simple user guide.
- Present project outcome and recommendations to the sourcing team.
Internship Requirements:
- Currently an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree
- Still an undergraduate and not yet graduated during the internship period
- Must be available for full-time internship commitment (Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm) between January to June 2027
- Must be available to work on-site throughout the full period of internship

Requirements:
- Currently an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
- Knowledge or interest in product merchandising and sourcing is a plus.
- Highly self-motivated and meticulous with a strong passion for retail
- Ability to adapt quickly to a constantly evolving organizations, and to thrive in a fast-paced working environment
- Strong team player; possesses good interpersonal skills with a high level of enthusiasm in collaborating in cross functional teams
- Adopts a challenging and questioning approach, proposing information and solutions in creative ways
- Passionate team player with a never-ending curiosity
- Self-starter that needs minimal supervision in motivating himself/herself, always looking for opportunities to contribute to our campaigns and overall projects.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet competing deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations
- Strategic thinker with good communications skills
- Creative mindset with the ability to leverage on data to develop strategy/decisions
- Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Photoshop and Keynote
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
