Job Description

As a Junior Business Intelligence Developer within the EMEA Business Intelligence team, you will be a contributing member of the BI Development pillar, supporting the design and delivery of scalable, high-quality BI products that serve multiple markets, service lines, and sectors across EMEA. Working closely with senior BI Developers, you will gain hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle of central BI products, from requirements gathering and design through to delivery, enablement, and iteration. This is a role for someone who is passionate about data visualisation, eager to develop their technical skills, and motivated to make a tangible difference through the products they help build. You will be guided and supported throughout, with clear opportunities to grow your expertise, take on increasing responsibility, and progress toward a more senior role within the pillar. 

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and development of BI products including dashboards, reports, and analytical tools on the Microsoft Power Platform, working under the guidance of senior BI Developers.

  • Support the delivery lifecycle of central BI products, assisting with requirements gathering, development, testing, and documentation at each stage. 

  • Collaborate with local BI teams and senior colleagues to understand business requirements and translate them into well-structured, intuitive analytics solutions. 

  • Ensure all BI outputs are developed in line with central governance standards, the BI visual style guide, and documentation requirements. 

  • Assist with the rollout of central BI products to local markets, supporting the preparation of enablement materials, demos, and guidance documentation. 

  • Work closely with Analytics Engineers and senior BI Developers to understand how upstream data models and datasets are used within BI product development. 

  • Contribute to the central reusable asset catalogue, ensuring outputs are documented and accessible for adaptation by local teams. 

  • Participate in peer reviews of BI outputs, incorporating feedback constructively to develop technical skills and maintain quality standards. 

  • Monitor product adoption and usage following launch, gathering feedback from stakeholders and escalating improvement suggestions to senior team members. 

  • Promote the Intelligent Data Platform as the single source of truth, ensuring all development work sources data through the platform. 

  • Engage actively in training, bootcamps, and mentoring programmes, taking ownership of personal development and building expertise in the tools and technologies used by the team. 

  • Develop awareness of AI and agentic capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem, building foundational knowledge that supports the team's evolving development approach.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related discipline. 

  • Some practical experience with BI development, data visualisation, or analytics through employment, internships, or academic projects. 

  • Foundational knowledge of Power BI or a comparable data visualisation tool; hands-on experience is an advantage. 

  • Basic understanding of data modelling concepts and an awareness of how semantic models and datasets underpin BI product development. 

  • Exposure to enterprise data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or Azure Synapse is desirable.

  • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) certification is desirable; a commitment to working toward it is expected.
