About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant (Lead Mortgage Valuation and Cash Flow Analytic) to join the Consumer Banking and Lending Finance team.

The role supports portfolio valuation, profitability measurement, forecasting, and business performance analytics across mortgage and consumer lending portfolios.

This position will also play a key role in helping establish future Home Equity portfolio analytics, valuation, reporting, and securitization capabilities as the business expands.

The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and capital markets skills with the ability to build new frameworks, reporting, and performance measurement capabilities that support strategic growth initiatives.

This is not a pure model-development role. The successful candidate will combine strong mortgage product and secondary-market knowledge with the ability to apply cash flow, behavior, valuation, and profitability analytics to business and risk decisions across mortgage originations and portfolios.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze and lead the portfolio performance, valuation, cash flows, forecasting, and profitability across mortgage and consumer lending portfolios while helping develop future Home Equity analytics and securitization capabilities.

  • Evaluate mortgage pricing and product economics, including note rate versus par rate and price, points and lender credits, fixed-rate versus adjustable-rate mortgages, and 30-, 45-, and 60-day lock terms.

  • Model origination behavior using pull-through assumptions that estimate the probability of locked loan funds, and assess fallout drivers such as rate movements relative to the lock rate and borrower characteristics.

  • Decompose expected profitability into revenue components, including Net Interest Margin and fee income, and cost components, including fulfillment, hedge, capital, and liquidity costs.

  • Produce and interpret core profitability metrics such as Net Present Value(NPV), Return on Assets, Return on Equity, and capital utilization and allocation measures.

  • Partner with Mortgage Capital Markets, Secondary Marketing, and business teams to support securitization, capital markets, collateral analytics, portfolio optimization, and future Home Equity execution strategies.

  • Assess the margin impact of rate volatility and optimize execution selection based on pricing, market conditions, and portfolio objectives.

  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis across interest-rate shocks, CPR, pull-through, and spread assumptions, including the interaction between pricing, volume, fallout, and margin.

  • Develop forecasts, reporting, dashboards, and analytical insights for senior leadership, translating complex findings into clear business recommendations.

  • Partner across Finance, Risk, Treasury, Mortgage Capital Markets, and Business teams on portfolio optimization, profitability enhancement, and other strategic initiatives

  • Comprehensive understanding of portfolio valuation, cash flow analytics, forecasting, securitization structures, capital markets activities, and secondary market execution. Experience with MBS, RMBS, ABS, home equity loans, or HELOC products is preferred.

  • Relevant experience performing cash flow analytics, portfolio analytics, profitability analysis, forecasting, scenario analysis, business performance measurement, and mortgage-related modeling to support strategic decision-making.

  • Strong understanding of pull-through, fallout, prepayment, pipeline, and loan-level performance drivers, with the ability to translate assumptions into profitability, capital utilization, valuation impacts, and broader business outcomes.
