We are seeking a Market Manager to play a critical role in shaping our long-term organic and inorganic growth strategy within the data center and battery energy storage market. This position will serve as the market expert, providing deep insights into market dynamics, customer needs, competitive landscapes, and emerging trends to guide business decisions, investment priorities, and future growth opportunities. 

This role offers the opportunity to set the segment strategy and identify new product needs while working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams. The area of responsibility is Europe, but given the intrinsic global nature of the business, there'll be frequent interaction with peers from other regions. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and deliver the Copeland Business Strategy Plan, including market sizing, growth forecasting, key trend analysis, and competitor intelligence. 

  • Define market segmentation, targeting, and prioritization strategies to identify the most attractive growth opportunities. 

  • Create market roadmaps to guide product, solution, and technology development. 

  • Translate market trends and customer needs in marketing specifications for new products, quantify the business opportunity and identify the relative critical features to support the projects portfolio prioritization process.  

  • Gather and analyze Voice of Customer insights to understand customer challenges, evolving requirements, and emerging trends. 

  • Assess market opportunities, growth rates, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments to support strategic decision-making. 

  • Conduct value assessments and support the development of compelling value propositions. 

  • Monitor competitor strategies, industry developments, and end-user requirements to influence commercial and product strategies. 

  • Identify potential mergers and acquisitions opportunities and contribute to strategic evaluations and roadmap development. 

  • Translate market insights into clear growth initiatives and align cross-functionally with Product Management, Portfolio Marketing, and Sales teams to drive execution. 

  • Integrate market intelligence into annual operating plans, strategic reviews, and long-term planning processes to support data-driven business decisions. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, or a related field. 

  • Experience in market management, business strategy, market intelligence, strategic marketing, product management, consulting, or related function. 

  • Experience within the data center industry or with OEMs supplying products, systems, or solutions to data center customers. 

  • Strong understanding of data center market dynamics, customer requirements, industry trends, and key stakeholders across the value chain. 

  • Demonstrated experience in market sizing, segmentation, forecasting, competitive analysis, and strategic planning. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex market data into actionable business recommendations. 

  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and driving alignment across multiple teams. 

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Fluent English language skills. Other European languages are an asset.   

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in HVAC, thermal management, refrigeration, cooling technologies, critical infrastructure, power management, or related industries serving data centers. 

  • Experience working with hyperscalers, colocation providers, data center operators, or OEMs supporting data center infrastructure. 

  • Familiarity with market research methodologies, customer insight programs, and strategic planning frameworks. 

  • Experience evaluating market expansion opportunities and M&A initiatives. 

  • MBA or other advanced business qualification. 

  • Experience working within a global or multinational organization.
