Power BI Architect – Reports Migration Expert We are looking for a highly experienced Power BI Architect to lead the modernization and migration of legacy reporting platforms to Microsoft Power BI. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Power BI, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, SQL, data visualization, and BI architecture, combined with strong experience in automating repetitive report-development and migration activities Lead the architecture and technical strategy for migrating legacy BI/reporting platforms to Power BI. Analyse existing legacy reports, dashboards, datasets, queries, calculations, filters, prompts, security models, and dependencies. Define migration patterns and standards for converting legacy reports into Power BI reports. Design scalable Power BI semantic models/datasets using appropriate star-schema and dimensional modeling principles. Establish enterprise standards for Power BI report development, modeling, visualization, naming conventions, performance, and deployment. Design and implement frameworks to automate Power BI report creation and migration wherever technically feasible. Evaluate and leverage Power BI REST APIs, Power BI/Fabric APIs, XMLA endpoints, Tabular Object Model (TOM), Tabular Editor, PowerShell, Python and/or .NET for automation. Define automated report comparison and validation frameworks to ensure migrated reports produce results equivalent to legacy reports. Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentoring to Power BI developers. Required Technical Skills 10+ years of experience in Data engineering domain & enterprise reports building with at least 2 projects experience in migration from legacy reporting technologies to Power BI. The candidate should have very strong hands-on Power BI expertise, including Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power BI Report Server, Power BI semantic models/datasets, DAX – advanced/expert level, Power Query / M, Data modelling, Star schema / dimensional modelling, Composite models, Import and DirectQuery, Incremental refresh, Aggregations, Calculation groups, Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), Drill-through, Bookmarks, Dynamic measures, Field parameters, Dynamic titles and visualization, Custom visuals, Power BI performance optimization, Deployment pipelines, Workspaces and governance Experience migrating reports from one or more legacy platforms is highly desirable, for example SAP BusinessObjects, IBM Cognos, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Oracle BI / OBIEE
