About the Role

The Client Money Reconciliations Analyst oversees daily end-to-end reconciliation for safeguarded and segregated client accounts across Group entites. Operating in a time-sensitive environment, this role requires managing both automated system-matching feeds and complex manual exception handling while maintaining strict adherence to daily regulatory deadlines. You will maintain accurate ledgers, ensure compliance (CASS / E-Money Safeguarding), and actively streamline workflows to enhance efficiency.

  • Funding & Segregation: Calculate daily client money resource requirements or excess returns to ensure client funds remain 100% segregated and fully compliant.
  • Process Streamlining & Automation: Identify operational bottlenecks, eliminate manual workarounds, and partner with Tech/Product teams to refine automated matching rules and data feeds.
  • Break Resolution & Escalation: Track, investigate, and clear aged open items alongside Operations, Payments, and Treasury teams, escalating material breaks promptly to management.
  • Audit & Regulatory Compliance: Maintain detailed audit trails and assist with regulatory filings and external audits.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience: 2+ years in client money/safeguarding reconciliations within Financial Services, Fintech, FX, or Payments.
  • Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of Client Money / Safeguarding regulations (e.g., FCA CASS / E-Money rules) and double-entry accounting.
  • Time Management & Deadlines: Proven track record of working under pressure, prioritizing tasks effectively, and meeting tight daily regulatory deadlines.
  • Technical & Process Improvement Skills: Advanced MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience using automated reconciliation software (e.g., AutoRek, ReconArt, SmartStream). Ability to streamline manual workflows.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, root-cause analytical skills, and clear cross-functional communication
