Position Summary
MannKind Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Regional & Local Events professional to manage the compliant planning, coordination, execution, and financial administration of local and regional commercial events supporting multiple brands and field teams. This role will serve as the primary operational contact for event requests, manage activities within Veeva Events Management, coordinate internal approvals and external vendors, and provide clear budget and status reporting to stakeholders. The successful candidate will combine strong execution, customer service, and process discipline in a fast-paced biopharmaceutical environment.
Principal Responsibilities
• Manage the end-to-end operational execution of regional and local events for assigned brands and sales teams, from request intake and approval through registration, payment, reconciliation, and closeout.
• Create and maintain events in Veeva Events Management, ensuring event records, supporting documentation, approvals, attendee information, expenses, and closeout activities are accurate and complete.
• Coordinate event approval workflows with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Contracts, Accounts Payable, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance partners, as applicable.
• Manage exhibitor and sponsorship logistics, including registrations, portal submissions, contracts, purchase orders, invoices, check requests, reimbursements, lead retrieval, and required event documentation.
• Monitor event budgets and spending; maintain accurate trackers and provide regular updates to sales and marketing leadership on commitments, payments, actual spend, and upcoming activity.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for field questions regarding event processes, systems, timelines, documentation, registration, and payment status.
• Partner with Veeva and internal system stakeholders on Veeva Events Management enhancements, testing, process improvements, and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, job aids, training materials, and communications for event requestors and stakeholders.
• Lead office hours, training sessions, and recurring stakeholder meetings to review upcoming events, budgets, open items, and process updates.
• Support larger Tier 1 congresses, national meetings, Plan of Action meetings, and other commercial events as business needs require.
• Coordinate with business analytics partners on lead capture, lead tracking, and post-event reporting.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve controls, strengthen reporting, and enhance the internal customer experience while maintaining compliance.
• Manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities while escalating risks and unresolved issues promptly.
Education and Experience Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Event Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in event operations, meeting planning, marketing operations, sales operations, or a related role.
• Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or another regulated industry preferred.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating vendors, contracts, purchase orders, invoices, registrations, budgets, and event documentation.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent events and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a service-oriented approach when working with field teams and cross-functional partners.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Veeva Events Management or another life sciences event management platform.
• Experience with Veeva CRM; 2+ years of hands-on Veeva experience preferred.
• Experience developing training materials, leading office hours, or supporting system and process rollouts.
• Experience with reporting, dashboards, budget tracking, or lead management.
Travel Requirements
Ability to travel periodically for congresses, company meetings, training, or other event support. Travel expectations will vary based on the event calendar.
