Introduction Welcome to Gallagher in India — where expertise, technology, and purpose come together. Since 2006, Gallagher in India has supported global teams by delivering quality, service, and speed through deep expertise, smart technology, and specialized knowledge services. More than just an operations center, it’s a place where careers grow through collaboration, continuous learning, and purposeful work. We drive efficiency, compliance, and innovation so our teams can focus on serving clients. If you enjoy solving problems and working with purpose, Gallagher is the place where you can grow and feel a sense of belonging. Overview Overview You’ll help turn insurance exposure data into clear catastrophe loss insight. You’ll work on mid-sized and light complex insurance books, using recognised catastrophe models and AJG models to prepare data, run analysis and explain results in a way clients can use. This role needs careful judgement and steady follow through. You’ll work on your own on many tasks, but you’ll also stay close to the onshore Lead Analyst so work stays on track and client needs are met. You’ll need to be comfortable with change. The work can move fast, timelines can shift, and the tools and models keep evolving. If you like solving problems, learning as you go and helping others, you could do well here. How You’ll Make an Impact You’ll prepare, clean and check data so it’s ready for analysis. You’ll work through exposure files, spot issues early and make sure the model inputs are sound before anything is run. Then you’ll apply the right modelling settings, run the analysis and turn the results into summaries and visuals that people can understand. You’ll also look beyond the first result. You’ll investigate loss movements, test how changes in input affect the output and use that insight to explain what’s driving the numbers. When asked, you’ll help answer Natural Catastrophe SRQs using model outputs and internal tools. Your responsibilities will include: preparing model input data in SQL and Excel cleaning, scrubbing and matching exposure data geocoding exposures and checking model and peril settings running catastrophe models and proprietary tools creating exposure and loss summaries in reporting tools carrying out sensitivity checks and investigating loss movements answering Natural Catastrophe SRQs using model outputs and internal tools sharing progress, issues and next steps with the onshore Lead Analyst helping junior analysts when needed and reviewing work when asked You’ll also take initiative where you can. That may mean improving a process, adding value to a model run or finding a better way to show the result. You’ll keep learning too, so you can build your understanding of complex catastrophe modelling and new tools as they come in. About You Here’s what you’ll bring to the role: You’ve worked with SQL and Excel in a data-heavy setting. You can prepare, clean and check data with care. You understand how catastrophe models work, or you can pick them up quickly. You know how to apply insurance and reinsurance terms accurately. You can explain numbers, assumptions and issues in simple terms. You’re comfortable working with statistics and simulation-based methods. You’ve used mapping or visual tools such as ArcGIS, SpatialKey or similar. You can manage several tasks at once and keep going when timelines shift. You ask useful questions and take initiative when something needs to move forward. You’ve used AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude or ChatGPT, and you can show how you use prompts, context and checks well. A quantitative background would help, but we value the skills and judgement you bring. How you'll make an impact Your responsibilities will include: turning product priorities into clear work packages with acceptance criteria and milestones making proportionate choices on data flows, APIs, applications, automation and support setting standards for coding, testing, documentation and review, and coaching developers working with the Delivery & Commercial Lead and domain specialists so the team builds useful, commercially relevant work building observability, access control, data handling and recoverability in from the start, and helping with incidents and root cause fixes About you University Degree and minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
