Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced working knowledge of United States Health and Welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, flexible spending accounts, commuter benefits, and wellbeing programs
  • Strong understanding of United States benefits compliance and administration, including Affordable Care Act reporting, Medicare employer documentation, Employee Retirement Income Security Act filings, Form 5500, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute fees, Section 129 non-discrimination testing, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve complex employee, dependent, and retiree benefit inquiries while partnering effectively across human resources, payroll, vendors, carriers, and third-party administrators

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in United States Health and Welfare benefits administration or a closely related benefits role, preferably within a multinational organization or benefits service provider
  • Benefits certifications such as Certified Employee Benefit Specialist, Group Benefits Associate, Retirement Plans Associate, Certified Benefits Professional, or Society for Human Resource Management certifications are preferred
  • Experience supporting third-party administrators, brokers, carriers, retirement vendors, and annual enrollment activities is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support annual enrollment and plan-year readiness activities, including communications, system testing, carrier coordination, payroll deductions, and post-enrollment validation
  • Lead day-to-day vendor management activities, governance routines, service issue tracking, risk escalation, and corrective action planning
  • Coordinate required compliance activities and regulatory filings, including Affordable Care Act reporting, Form 5500, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute fees, Section 129 testing, Gag Clause Attestation, and other applicable requirements
  • Monitor benefits administration file activity, reconcile enrollment and carrier data, coordinate payroll adjustments, and ensure accurate employee records
  • Administer expatriate benefit enrollments and terminations in partnership with Global Mobility teams and external providers while maintaining accurate documentation
  • Develop and maintain employee communications, benefits materials, standard operating procedures, controls, and process documentation to support operational excellence
  • Analyze operational trends and recommend improvements that strengthen efficiency, automation, data quality, compliance controls, and employee experience
