Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Senior Data Scientist at our Newtown Square, PA location to contribute to the nurturing of a data-centric culture within the Product and Engineering teams.
Expectations and Tasks:
Support product and customer analytics initiatives to deliver data-backed insights to various stakeholders. Collaborate with departments such as product, marketing, sales and finance to understand and address product’s data and analytics requirements. Develop advanced analytics tools, dashboards, and reports to provide actionable insights for product leaders and cross-functional collaborators. Provide operational support to the engineering development team by translating business and functional requirements into well-documented datasets and actionable reporting dashboards. Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that enhance development, quality assurance, release, and customer support processes through timely insights. Identify and measure product success via goal setting, forecasting, and ongoing monitoring of key metrics. Communicate insights and strategies effectively across different personas, incorporating feedback for continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to drive data-informed decisions and product strategy execution. Utilize knowledge and experience in transforming and analyzing large-scale datasets. Utilize knowledge and experience of statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and large language models (LLMs) for advanced data analysis. Socializing insights, analysis, strategies with different personas, soliciting feedback on where to improve by providing data insights to inform and support engineering development, product strategy and investment decisions.
Education and Occupational Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
Experience must include four (4) years involving each of the following:

Financial data analysis utilizing Microsoft Excel and project-based consulting presentation utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint;

Designing and managing ETL/ELT data pipelines using REST architecture with Apache Airflow;

Ingesting, transforming, and storing structured and semi-structured data into data warehouses including MySQL database and ADLS Gen2;

Transforming and analyzing large-scale datasets using Databricks, PySpark SQL, MySQL and Python;
-
Applying machine learning and large language models (LLMs) to process structured and unstructured data;
-
Developing data visualizations and BI solutions with Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud; and
-
Utilizing SAP Business Warehouse, SAC/SAP Datasphere, Cloud for Semantics, and Windows/Linux virtual environments.

Compensation Range Transparency: Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $144,685 - $195,976. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $144,685 - $222,700. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
