Are you an experienced leader with expertise in clinical data programming, database development, and technology-driven solutions? We are seeking a Senior Manager, Clinical Data Programming & Systems to lead our technical Clinical Data Sciences function, overseeing the development, programming, integration, and maintenance of clinical databases, programming solutions, data transfers, visualizations, and supporting technologies across multiple global clinical studies.

This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, technical innovation, quality, and client satisfaction while developing high-performing teams and supporting strategic business growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing Clinical Data Programming and Clinical Data Systems teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Oversee the delivery of clinical database builds, programming activities, data integrations, transfers, visualizations, and system-related deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Manage operational planning, resource allocation, capacity forecasting, budgets, and project priorities to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive innovation by implementing new technologies, automation, programming methodologies, and database solutions that improve efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure the design, development, validation, and maintenance of clinical databases comply with client requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a senior escalation point for technical discussions, delivery, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead quality management activities, including audits, investigations, CAPAs, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Management, Biostatistics, Quality, and IT, to support successful clinical study delivery.
  • Mentor future leaders and establish development programs that strengthen technical capability across the department.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Clinical Data Programming, Clinical Data Systems, Database Development, or a related technical clinical data function within the biopharmaceutical or CRO industry.
  • At least 5 years of leadership or people management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical database development, clinical data programming, data integration, and data management principles.
  • Experience with clinical database technologies, electronic data capture (EDC) systems, data transfers, programming, and automation.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards, including CDISC, CDASH, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Demonstrated success leading technical teams, managing complex projects, and implementing process improvements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of proficiency in English and Microsoft Office.
