POSITION SUMMARY:  

 

The Senior Manager, Insights & Analytics – Grooming & Sun serves as the senior strategic insights partner to U.S. Marketing and Category leadership, shaping the learning agenda and translating consumer, shopper, category, and market intelligence into clear choices that drive brand growth, innovation, and commercial performance.

 

This role leads complex, high-impact research and analytics initiatives across the Grooming and Sun portfolios, integrates multiple data sources into holistic business perspectives, and influences decisions across the full business cycle. The Senior Manager establishes strong partnerships with cross-functional leaders, guides external research and analytics partners, and advances modern insights capabilities and ways of working across the organization.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Set and lead the strategic insights and analytics agenda for the Grooming and Sun businesses, aligning priorities to category strategies, brand plans, innovation roadmaps, and growth objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to Brand & Marketing teams, along with additional cross-functional leaders, reframing business challenges and proactively identifying the highest-value learning needs.
  • Lead the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research programs, selecting fit-for-purpose methodologies and ensuring insights lead to clear business action.
  • Integrate primary research, syndicated data, household panel data, analytics, digital signals, and internal knowledge to uncover growth opportunities, emerging needs, competitive threats, and portfolio implications.
  • Translate complex findings into compelling executive-level stories, recommendations, and decision frameworks that create alignment and a bias for action.
  • Guide insights for innovation and renovation, including opportunity identification, concept and proposition development, product and claims learning, and in-market optimization.
  • Shape consumer and market perspectives that inform annual business planning, brand strategy, positioning, communications, commercialization, and performance reviews.
  • Lead strategic relationships with external research, analytics, and data partners, including scoping, briefing, vendor selection, budget stewardship, quality oversight, and delivery of actionable outputs.
  • Manage a portfolio of concurrent projects and resources with strong prioritization, budget oversight, operational rigor, and proactive risk management.
  • Champion innovative research approaches, advanced analytics, AI-enabled tools, and agile learning methods while maintaining high standards for data quality, objectivity, and research integrity.
  • Build organizational insights capability by sharing best practices and embedding consumer-centered, data-driven decision-making into everyday ways of working.
  • Measure and communicate the business impact of insights work, continuously improving tools, processes, partnerships, and learning plans based on outcomes and stakeholder needs.

 

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Market Research, Behavioral Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in consumer insights, market research, category insights, analytics, or a related strategic discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate primary research with syndicated, panel, category, market, and business data to create holistic recommendations.

 

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • MBA, master’s degree, or other relevant advanced degree.
  • Experience within Consumer Packaged Goods, ideally Beauty and Personal Care, Grooming, or Sun Care.
  • Deep expertise in qualitative and quantitative research design, execution, analysis, and synthesis.
  • Manufacturer-side insights experience supporting established brands, innovation, and commercialization.
  • Expertise with syndicated scan and household panel data, including platforms such as Nielsen or Circana.
  • Experience with emerging digital insight sources, advanced analytics, AI-enabled research tools, or agile research platforms.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen, with a track record of using insights to influence strategy, innovation, brand building, and growth decisions.
  • Executive-level communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to simplify complexity and influence stakeholders across functions and levels.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Experience managing external agencies, research suppliers, budgets, and project portfolios with disciplined governance and accountability.
  • Strong judgment, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a consumer-centered, objective, data-driven point of view.

 

 

The salary range for this position is $136,000-204,000.
