Create your best future and join Group Audit - Models, Risk Analytics and Treasury as a Senior Manager

What’s the role?

Join Group Audit and help shape stronger risk management and assurance outcomes across Westpac. As a Senior Manager, you'll lead and deliver audits across credit risk, risk analytics, treasury and related control environments. 

You'll work closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to assess frameworks, policies, models and processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide meaningful insights that support better decision making.

You'll also play an important role in mentoring team members, supporting strategic audit initiatives, and staying across emerging regulatory and risk developments that impact the banking environment.

Location: Sydney
Work type: Permanent, Full Time with flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

What do I need?

  • Experience in credit risk measurement, analytics, stress testing or provisioning within an ADI (Authorised Deposit-taking Institution), consulting environment (such as a Big 4 firm), or a combination of both
  • Strong understanding of APRA prudential standards including APS113, APS112, APS220 and/or APS110, AASB 9 provisioning, with experience applying these in practice
  • Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, lead projects and communicate complex concepts clearly to senior audiences
  • Experience delivering audit, assurance, model validation or risk review outcomes, including preparing reports and presenting key findings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an inquisitive mindset and the ability to identify root causes, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications

Highly desirable

  • Experience in credit modelling, data analytics or model risk governance using tools such as SAS, R, Python, SQL or Power BI
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA or FRM
  • Experience within a bank's credit risk measurement, model validation or first line credit risk function
  • Knowledge of counterparty credit risk (APS180), model risk and/or climate risk analytics
