The Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) will support and maintain mission-critical on-premises Oracle database environments, with a strong focus on Oracle PeopleSoft applications. The role holder will be responsible for the administration, performance, security, and availability of Oracle databases supporting PeopleSoft Financials.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Oracle Database Administration

 

·       Patch, update, and maintain Oracle Database environments.

·       Administer Oracle 19c databases across development, test, QA, and production environments.

·       Manage Oracle ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and related technologies.

·       Monitor database performance, capacity, and availability.

 

PeopleSoft Administration Support

 

·       Support Oracle databases underlying PeopleSoft Financials application.

·       Support PeopleSoft infrastructure including Application Server, Process Scheduler, WebLogic, Tuxedo, and Integration Broker components.

·       Lead PeopleTools upgrades, PUM image deployments, environment refreshes, migrations and application maintenance activities.

·       Support Phire change management administration, including migration workflows, user access, release management, troubleshooting, and coordination of PeopleSoft application deployments.

·       Administer and support PeopleSoft Search Framework and OpenSearch environments, including installation, configuration, indexing, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

·       Administer and support Integration Broker, gateways, web services, and APIs.

·       Collaborate with functional teams, developers, and DBAs to resolve application, batch processing, search, and integration issues.

·       Support production releases, system monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvements.

·       Develop and maintain automation solutions using shell scripting and related administration tools.

·       Configure, troubleshoot, and regularly patch Oracle WebLogic, Tuxedo and JDK environments.

·       Support single sign-on (SSO), SSL certificates, and security integrations.

·       Assist with vulnerability management and infrastructure planning.

·       Optimize PeopleSoft batch processing, Application Engine programs, Process Scheduler performance, and reporting workloads.

·       Troubleshoot database performance issues impacting PeopleSoft online and batch operations.

 

Performance Tuning & Optimization

 

·       Analyze AWR, ASH, Statspack, and execution plans to identify performance bottlenecks.

·       Implement proactive monitoring and performance improvement initiatives.

 

Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery

 

·       Support backup and recovery strategies using RMAN via third party tool (Rubrick).

·       Support disaster recovery planning and testing for Oracle and PeopleSoft environments.

·       Support a Day-1 copy of a production database using Oracle Data Guard Snapshot Standby.

 

Security & Compliance

 

·       Implement database security controls and access management.

·       Support compliance initiatives and security audits.

·       Apply Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) and security patches.

 

Automation & Documentation

 

·       Support automation scripts using bash shell.

·       Create and maintain operational procedures and support documentation.

·       Document PeopleSoft-specific database standards and maintenance processes.

 

 

Skills and Experience Specification:

 

Essential:

·       Oracle Database Administration experience.

·       Experience supporting Oracle databases in a PeopleSoft environment.

·       Strong experience with Oracle ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and Enterprise Manager.

·       Experience supporting PeopleSoft applications, including PeopleTools architecture.

·       Experience administering Oracle databases on Linux/Unix platforms.

·       Strong SQL skills.

 

Desirable:

 

·       Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.

·       Advanced knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning and troubleshooting.

·       Experience with PeopleSoft Financials.

·       Experience with PeopleSoft PUM upgrades and PeopleTools upgrades.

·       Familiarity with middleware technologies including WebLogic and Tuxedo.

·       Experience with third party enterprise monitoring tools, such as Foglight, and ITIL-based support processes using ServiceNOW.

·       Experience with Peoplesoft change management tools, such as Phire.
