Senior Product Manager - Data Platform

Job Description

• Own the platform roadmap: turn conflicting tasks from consuming teams into one prioritized set of shared capabilities.

• Problem framing by digging into the original request, reproduce the pain point, and define the actual problem before handing it to engineering.

• Design the parameterization model & platforms: which signals, weights, rules, and ranking strategies a consuming team can flexibility use and modify

• Partner with engineering on the platform's technical foundations - API contracts, real-time serving latency and throughput, and feature pipelines that stay consistent between training and serving.

• Ship the self-serve experimentation layer integrated to our platform - A/B tests, holdouts, guardrail metrics - so each team can measure the outcome it cares about, and arbitrate when two teams' configurations collide.

• Define platform-level success metrics: adoption across departments, incremental lift delivered platform-wide, latency and reliability SLAs

• Drive adoption hands-on: onboard each consuming team, scope its personalization needs.

• Anticipate how the platform fails as usage grows - configuration drift, factors interacting across teams, cold start for new signals and consumers - and roadmap the guardrails and observability that catch it first.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of product management experience, at least 2 of them as a technical or platform PM. Experience with recommendation, ranking, or personalization systems is highly advantageous.
• Hands on experience as technical or platform product manager, work with ML or data engineering teams.
• Ability to deconstruct vague stakeholder requests to precise problem statements, evaluation frameworks, and outcomes alongside engineering.
• Track record of owning a platform, shared service, or internal API adopted by multiple teams
• Working knowledge of recommendation, ranking, or personalization infrastructure (feature stores, real-time vs. batch serving, training/serving consistency)
• Experience running decisions through an experimentation framework - A/B design, guardrail metrics, and knowing when a test isn't the right instrument.
• Stakeholder management across functions with genuinely competing goals, and the judgment to resolve them into one roadmap.Excellent English communication, with PRDs and design docs clear enough for engineers to build straight from.
• Fluent use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent) in your daily workflow for research, spec writing, and data exploration.
