Overview We are seeking a full-time Software Engineer Intern at Garmin's Chanhassen, MN location. In this role on the Aviation Cloud Data Content team, you will be responsible for learning and training to develop software for aeronautical and weather data, developing features for products across Garmin's mobile, web, and avionics platforms in a team-oriented environment under supervision. Essential Functions Learn to develop software in C, C++, Java, Assembly language, or other selected languages for Garmin communication and navigation products in accordance with Garmin’s software development methodology with guidance Learn to test software using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers Learn to perform software releases and software quality assurance activities Learn to perform maintenance activities for products already in production in addition to new product software design Associates are expected to integrate, use, and provide feedback on products in development when possible as part of their normal job responsibilities Basic Qualifications Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a field relevant to perform the essential functions of this job description Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must possess relevant experience and/or training in a high-level language such as C, C++, C# or Java relevant to Garmin’s business needs Must possess relevant experience and/or training in data structures or object-oriented design methodology relevant to Garmin’s business needs Desired Qualifications Pursuing a master's degree in Geomatics, Aerospace or Software engineering Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) Previous experience working in a team environment Experience with C++, Java, Python, or other selected languages Knowledge of Linux environments Knowledge of CI/CD such as Jenkins Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
