Job Overview

The NPI Strategic Sourcing Analyst supports and executes regional and global sourcing strategies, with a strong focus on successful New Product Introduction (NPI) launches. The role drives sourcing objectives across cost, quality, delivery, productivity, supplier capacity, compliance, and risk management.

Based in Hermosillo, the position collaborates with Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Project Management, Commodity Management, and suppliers to execute RFQs, supplier selection and negotiations, cost analysis, supplier readiness, and risk mitigation. The role contributes to on-time product launches, competitive sourcing, cost optimization, and a resilient and compliant supply base.

Job Requirements

1. NPI & Project Execution
•    Manage procurement activities across NPI and product transition projects, ensuring sourcing milestones are achieved in line with project schedules. 
•     Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Project Management, Commodity Management, and suppliers to translate BOMs, specifications, and project requirements into sourcing actions. 
•    Track supplier readiness across prototype, FAI/pre-production, qualification, and mass-production phases, proactively identifying and mitigating supply, capacity, cost, and schedule risks. 
•    Provide sourcing support to manufacturing sites during new product launches, transfers, re-sourcing, and outsourcing project
2. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
•    Develop and execute sourcing and supplier strategies in alignment with commodity, regional, and project requirements. 
•    Manage the end-to-end sourcing process, including supplier identification, RFQs, competitive bidding, evaluation, selection, negotiation, awarding, contracting, and onboarding. 
•    Conduct market intelligence and supplier capability assessments to identify new suppliers, development partners, and alternative sourcing opportunities. 
•    Drive supplier performance through QBRs, capacity reviews, lead-time improvement, risk mitigation, and supplier development actions..
3. Cost & Commercial Management
•    Lead supplier negotiations covering material/tooling costs, pricing, MOQ, lead time, capacity, commercial terms, and contracts. 
•    Perform BOM and cost-driver analysis, benchmarking, should-cost modeling, and commercial evaluations to support sourcing decisions. 
•    Identify and execute cost-saving and productivity opportunities to achieve project and sourcing targets. 
•    Track cost versus target, cost roll-ups, and variances, driving corrective actions with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
4. Tooling & Supplier Development
•    Support sourcing and development of tooling and manufacturing suppliers, particularly across relevant processes such as plastics/molding and stamping. 
•    Partner with Engineering/MDE and suppliers on DFM, tooling feasibility, cost optimization, development schedules, validation, and production readiness. 
•    Monitor tooling lifecycle, supplier capability, capacity, technical risks, and development milestones. 
•    Coordinate resolution of tooling and supplier industrialization issues impacting project timing, quality, cost, or production.
5. Compliance, Risk & Sourcing Governance
•    Ensure sourcing activities comply with TE policies, sourcing procedures, contractual requirements, regulatory requirements, and supplier responsibility standards. 
•    Ensure suppliers meet applicable quality, product compliance, sustainability, and responsible sourcing requirements. 
•    Maintain appropriate documentation for supplier approvals, sourcing decisions, cost justifications, contracts, and audit trails. 
•    Proactively identify and mitigate supplier, capacity, continuity, compliance, commercial, and project risks.

What your background should look like

1. Education:
•    Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
•    MBA in Supply Chain Management or Procurement is a strong advantage.

2. Experience:
•    12–15 years of overall professional experience, including 8–10 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain, preferably within a manufacturing or technology-driven environment. 
•    Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier development, and commodity management, with hands-on experience in BOM interpretation, RFQ execution, should-cost modeling, cost roll-ups, variance analysis, and project-phase tracking. 
•    Strong technical and commercial exposure to multiple manufacturing processes such as molding/plastics, stamping, machining, tooling, cable assemblies and/or electronics.
•    Experience supporting cross-functional projects involving Engineering, Quality, Project Management, Manufacturing, and suppliers. 
•    Prior experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) sourcing and supplier industrialization is highly desirable

3. Skills & Competencies:

•    Strong strategic sourcing, negotiation and supplier management capabilities. 
•    Good understanding of BOMs, RFQs, cost analysis, should-cost concepts and manufacturing processes. 
•    Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills. 
•    Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Project Management and global suppliers. 
•    Demonstrated experience in NPI procurement, with strong capabilities in supplier performance, capacity planning, lead-time optimization, risk management, and KPI governance
•    Working knowledge of APQP/PPAP, quality and regulatory/compliance requirements. 
•    Proficiency in SAP, Excel and other procurement/data tools. 
•    Fluent Business English, with strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
