Responsible for the gathering and maintenance of project requirements, metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. used to document digital banking projects within the credit union. Supports the Digital Projects team through improving processes, products, services, and software through data analysis and technical documentation. Bridge the gap between Digital Services, IT resources, and business units to improve efficiency. Identify and then prioritize technical and functional requirements. Works with Digital Projects team and other IT staff to support managerial and strategic project management needs. In addition to these regular business analyst duties, the Senior Digital Technical Business Analyst will establish foundational processes, tools, and procedures for BA activities, conduct team trainings, and provide necessary change and refinement to current processes where possible.

Responsibilities

1) Determines relevant data needs and coordinates with project team and other IT staff to fulfill those needs.

 

a) Work with team to define requirements, mockups, and data flows necessary to support analytic needs that conform to the project needs for Digital services.b) Work with business units, management, and other staff to assess various reporting needs.c) Develops an understanding of underlying corporate data sources and their relationships to support project success.d) Analyze reporting needs and requirements. Assess current reporting in the context of strategic goals and devise plans for delivering the most appropriate reporting solutions to users.

 

2) Maintains recurring and ad-hoc project management requirements, reports, and dashboards.

 

a) Extracts operational, performance, statistical and other data from various sources.b) Maintains & answers questions for reporting and analysis needs of the projects.c) Uses various software applications such as desktop tools, spreadsheets, report writing software, statistical software, graphical presentation tools, and project management applications to assemble, manipulate and/ or format data and/or reports.d) Works within controls to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and confidentiality of all requirements, views, dashboards, analyses and data.e) Assists in training and supports end users on access of requirements.f) Assists and supports credit union personnel as needed.

 

3) Works closely with project teams and management to interpret and analyze results.

 

a) Analyzes, interprets and summarizes outputs.b) Participates in the interpretation and context of requirements gathering processc) Assists project team, technical resources, QA, and business units for testing and roll out needs.d) Identifies exceptions, positive and negative trends and measures that are out of tolerance with established limits and ranges, while working with project managers.e) Identifies potential concerns based on projections of current trends.f) Performs statistical and data analysis of requirements for management and other credit union personnel on key observations and findings.

 

4) In addition to the above duties, a Senior Digital Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for:

 

a) Conduct trainings for business analysts on as-needed basis to expand the team’s capabilities by establishing best practices, policies, BA processes, quality assurance and control, and tools. b) Advocate for learning, process improvement, and project management in the company.c) Available for issues that might come up such as delays in resource procurement, sudden personnel shifts, or interpersonal conflicts. When problems emerge, business analysts and other stakeholders may escalate problems to Senior Digital Technical Business Analysts for resolution.d) The Senior Digital Technical Business Analyst keeps on the pulse of business management as a field, such as the latest developments, standards, best practices, tools, and software in the industry, etc.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Must have prior experience working business intelligence tools in large or midsize companies.• Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and react to problems quickly.• Must be able to translate concepts and directions into practical solutions.• Must understand relational database structures, including multi-dimensional• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Must be a team player.• Understanding of the financial services industry and digital banking desired.• Strong familiarity with Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint required• Experience with dashboard design and delivery desired.

 

Experience:

 

• 9+ years of experience in gathering and maintaining requirements and supporting successful projects in technical environments and financial institutions.• Proven track record of leadership: drives results, solves problems, and possesses interpersonal skills.

Education:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or another business-related field. Equivalent experience may substitute for education qualifications.• Certifications in project management field strongly preferred.
