Responsible for leading one or more Financial Crimes model analytics, monitoring optimization, data strategy, or innovation functions within the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) monitoring strategies.. The role serves as a senior subject matter expert and team lead, driving strategic initiatives, influencing cross-functional teams, and providing technical leadership to model owners and analytics resources. This position may evolve into formal people leadership as the function grows.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.  Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.  Specific activities may change from time to time.  

 

1. Ensure delivery of accurate and actionable analytics, reporting, or data insights, if applicable, to aid key decision-making and support effective operations within the Financial Crimes Program

2. Be stewards and champions of data quality and data management initiatives/best practices within Financial Crimes to help ensure viable, accurate, and effective data for Financial Crimes program usage.  

3. Develop high functioning working relationships with internal and external partners to aid in achieving strategic objectives and a best in class Financial Crimes program.

4. Develop and maintain financial crimes subject matter expertise for self and teammates.

5. Whenever required, provide support and materials for responding to internal and external reviewers of the Financial Crimes program, as well as assist in managing and resolving issues that arise from these reviews as required.

6. Ensure proper procedures and documentation on team processes are developed, maintained, and followed in accordance with enterprise standards.

7. Manage special projects directed by Managing Director of Financial Crimes or GSS Director and providing seasoned experience and influence/guidance to management across functions within Global Sanctions and Financial Crimes.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Business Administration or other applied quantitative science, or equivalent education and related training

2. Seven years of demonstrated experience with Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC, Fraud, and/or Compliance Intelligence programs

3. Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations impacting financial crimes programs

4. Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), or other qualified, related professional certifications
