The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst, Service Intelligence & Automation to join the Defence & Federal Government Service Intelligence & Governance Team within the newly established Service Integration Office.

This is not a traditional requirements or reporting role. You will help design how the portfolio connects service performance, risk, governance and operational information, transforming fragmented processes and data into trusted, automated and decision-ready solutions.

What You’ll Do

You will:

  • Own initiatives from problem discovery and requirements definition through solution design, prototyping, implementation and adoption.

  • Develop service-intelligence products that bring together information from multiple systems and support faster, evidence-based decisions.

  • Identify and remove duplicated reporting, manual coordination and fragmented governance activities.

  • Design and implement automated workflows, self-service tools and fit-for-purpose digital solutions.

  • Establish trusted sources of information with clear ownership, controls, definitions and sustainable ways of working.

  • Use Power Platform, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SharePoint and Copilot capabilities to prototype and deliver practical business outcomes.

  • Work with data, engineering and platform specialists where solutions require deeper technical development or integration.

  • Support adoption, define success measures and assess whether implemented solutions have improved productivity, visibility or control effectiveness.

  • Help establish reusable patterns, standards and capabilities that can scale across the Defence & Federal Government portfolio.

About You

You may currently work as a:

  • Technical Business Analyst

  • Digital or Automation Business Analyst

  • Power Platform or Business Applications Consultant

  • Service Management Analyst

  • Process Automation Analyst

  • Operational Excellence Analyst

  • Service Design Analyst

  • Data and Reporting Analyst with strong business-analysis experience

You’ll bring:

  • Strong business-analysis, process-discovery and stakeholder-engagement capability.

  • The ability to move from an ambiguous problem to a structured, practical and implementable solution.

  • Experience shaping or delivering workflow automation, digital tools, dashboards or business applications.

  • Working experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint or related Microsoft technologies.

  • An understanding of how data, process, technology, controls and user experience work together.

  • The ability to prototype ideas and communicate effectively with business stakeholders and technical specialists.

  • A focus on user adoption, measurable outcomes and sustainable solution ownership.

  • Experience working across organisational boundaries in a large, complex or highly regulated environment.

  • Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, with the judgement to apply them to genuine business problems.

Experience in service management, managed services, telecommunications, government, Defence or critical infrastructure environments would be highly regarded.

You do not need to be a software engineer or data scientist. You will be technically confident, comfortable working with data and digital platforms, and able to bridge the gap between operational needs and scalable technical solutions.
