About the job:

The Self-Service Analytics Platforms Analyst is responsible for supporting and enabling enterprise analytics platforms delivered as a service, empowering business users, analysts, and product teams to leverage secure, governed, and scalable analytics capabilities. Working closely with senior platform engineers and platform stakeholders, this role contributes to the operational management, adoption, and continuous enhancement of self-service analytics platforms.

 

This position plays a key role in platform operations, governance execution, user enablement, and service delivery by supporting platform processes, responding to stakeholder needs, and contributing to initiatives that improve platform adoption and user experience. The incumbent will continue to build expertise in platform administration, governance, FinOps, automation, and analytics enablement while ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy, security standards, and architectural best practices.

 

The role combines platform administration, operational support, stakeholder engagement, and continuous learning within a collaborative analytics platform team.

Responsibilities

 

• Support the administration, enhancement, and day-to-day operations of enterprise analytics and visualization platforms delivered as a service.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to understand requirements and support the delivery of platform capabilities and service requests.

• Contribute to platform initiatives and roadmap execution aligned with analytics, cloud, and enterprise data strategy objectives.

• Maintain and enhance operational dashboards and scorecards that provide visibility into platform adoption, utilization, service performance, capacity, costs, SLA compliance, and user experience.

• Support FinOps activities by monitoring platform consumption, tracking license utilization, identifying optimization opportunities, and assisting with cost transparency reporting.

• Assist in implementing and maintaining platform governance standards, operational procedures, and best practices.

• Support self-service analytics enablement while promoting compliance, security, governance, and responsible use of analytics platforms.

• Partner with Data Engineering, Security, Cloud Infrastructure, Data Governance, and Architecture teams to support integrated platform solutions.

• Monitor and report on platform KPIs, service health metrics, adoption trends, operational performance, and support effectiveness.

• Support automation initiatives related to provisioning, onboarding, access management, monitoring, and operational workflows.

• Contribute to maintaining platform reliability, performance, availability, scalability, and business continuity through established operational practices.

• Execute platform support activities in accordance with ITIL/ITSM processes, including incident, problem, change, release, and service management.

• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to initiatives that enhance platform efficiency and user experience.

• Create and maintain platform documentation, knowledge articles, operational procedures, service catalogs, and support materials.

• Contribute to training programs, enablement sessions, office hours, and community engagement activities that drive platform adoption and user success.

• Serve as a trusted support resource for platform-related requests and appropriately escalate complex issues to senior team members.

Technical Skills

 

• Foundational to intermediate expertise in Microsoft Power BI administration, governance, security, capacity management, and workspace administration.

• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise analytics platforms such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau, or similar cloud-based analytics technologies.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric capabilities and modern self-service analytics concepts.

• Basic understanding of platform engineering principles and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) operating models.

• Experience supporting governance processes, workspace lifecycle management, platform administration, and operational controls.

• Familiarity with platform monitoring, telemetry, usage analytics, operational reporting, and observability practices.

• Experience building and maintaining operational dashboards, adoption metrics, KPI scorecards, and service insights reporting.

• Working knowledge of FinOps practices including consumption tracking, cost monitoring, license management, and optimization opportunities.

• Exposure to cloud technologies and services within Azure and/or AWS environments.

• Understanding of enterprise security concepts including role-based access control (RBAC), row-level security (RLS), compliance requirements, identity management, and data governance.

• Foundational knowledge of semantic models, analytics architecture, data warehousing, and modern data platform concepts.

• Exposure to automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, or similar technologies.

• Familiarity with Power BI REST APIs, administration APIs, deployment pipelines, CI/CD concepts, and DevOps practices.

• Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks and product-centric operating models.

• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate platform, performance, and user support issues.

• Experience supporting integrations between analytics platforms, cloud services, enterprise applications, and data platforms.

• Awareness of AI-enabled analytics capabilities, Copilot technologies, and emerging Generative BI solutions.

Experience

 

• 3–5 years of experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data, Platform Operations, or Technology Support roles.

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise analytics platforms such as Microsoft Power BI.

• Experience working with business users and supporting enterprise-scale analytics environments.

• Experience contributing to platform operations, governance activities, self-service analytics initiatives, or user enablement programs.

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS and modern data ecosystems.

Preferred Education and Certifications

 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.

• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Fundamentals, or equivalent cloud certification.

• FinOps Certified Practitioner.

• AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals Certification.

• ITIL Foundation Certification.
