About the role

We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.

Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.

Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.

Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly analytical, detail-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Strategy team and partner closely with senior leadership. This person will own the reporting, dashboards, and analysis that help our executive team make better decisions and communicate the performance of the business to our Board of Directors, investors, and internal leadership.

This is not a traditional reporting role. You will be responsible for taking complex business questions, finding the right data, turning it into clear insights, and building scalable reporting that can be used repeatedly across the organization.

You will work closely with Strategy, Finance, and senior leadership, with significant exposure to the executive team.

What You'll Do

Executive, Board & Investor Reporting

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting used for Board of Directors meetings, investor materials, executive reviews, and leadership meetings
  • Own the underlying data and analysis behind key company metrics
  • Partner with Strategy and Finance to prepare recurring reporting and investor materials
  • Translate complex business performance into clear, executive-ready insights and visualizations
  • Quickly investigate changes in performance and identify the key drivers behind the numbers

Business & Financial Reporting

  • Build recurring reporting around revenue, margin, EBITDA, operating expenses, headcount, sales, customer performance, and other key business metrics
  • Support actuals vs. budget vs. forecast reporting
  • Partner with Finance to ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and aligned with financial statements and company planning
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting and reduce reliance on spreadsheets and one-off analyses

Dashboards & Business Intelligence

  • Build and own executive dashboards that provide a clear view of company performance
  • Develop dashboards and reporting for internal leadership meetings across areas such as Sales, Operations, CX, Finance, and People
  • Establish consistent KPI definitions and create a single source of truth for critical business metrics
  • Improve the way leaders access and consume data across the organization

Data & Analytics

  • Pull, analyze, and reconcile data across multiple systems and data sources
  • Strong SQL proficiency and Semantic data layer experience
  • Identify data quality issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them
  • Turn ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and actionable recommendations
  • Build repeatable processes and automated reporting wherever possible

What We're Looking For

  • 3–6+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, strategic finance, FP&A, or a similar analytical role
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large or complex datasets
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or a similar BI platform
  • Strong understanding of financial and operational metrics
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high bar for data accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and take an ambiguous question from idea → analysis → executive-ready output
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex data clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

You'd Be Especially Strong If You Have

  • Experience supporting a CEO, CFO, Strategy team, or executive leadership team
  • Experience with Board or investor reporting
  • Experience in FP&A or financial reporting
  • Experience in a high-growth technology, logistics, e-commerce, or SaaS company
  • Experience working with data warehouses and modern data stacks
  • Experience automating recurring reporting
  • Python or other analytical programming experience
  • A strong understanding of how financial, operational, and commercial metrics connect

What Success Looks Like

You will become the person the Strategy and executive teams rely on to answer questions like:

  • How is the business performing?
  • What changed?
  • Why did it change?
  • What are the key drivers?
  • Are we on track against our plan?
  • What should leadership be paying attention to?

You'll build the dashboards and reporting infrastructure that make those answers accessible, accurate, and repeatable.

Most importantly, you'll help turn data into a competitive advantage for how we run the business.
