LMI is seeking a Business / Data Analyst at the Level III level to produce the trusted assessment and reporting foundation for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Agile and Atlassian Cloud modernization initiatives. The role combines business process discovery, quantitative analysis, stakeholder interviews, and operational reporting to help leaders make informed decisions about readiness, sequencing, training, and tool adoption. The Business / Data Analyst will document how teams manage work today; analyze Jira Cloud usage, workflow patterns, survey responses, and interview findings; and establish a reliable inventory of teams, projects, and readiness needs. Using Excel and Power BI or Tableau, the analyst will translate disparate information into clear findings, repeatable classifications, practical recommendations, and portfolio-level measures. We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.
Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.
Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.
Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.
