- 2–3 years of hands-on Power BI experience: building datasets and data models, not just consuming or lightly editing existing dashboards — relationships, DAX measures, Power Query - Working knowledge of SQL, framed as a diagnostic/conceptual skill (reading and validating data, understanding joins/keys/grain) rather than daily production querying - Demonstrated ability to explain what data means and where it comes from, not just how to reproduce a report
How you'll make an impact: Owning Power BI dashboards and datasets end to end means tracing data from source systems through Azure Data Factory into Fabric, building the semantic models and DAX measures behind self-service reporting, and making sure what leadership sees is accurate. This is a build-and-maintain role first and ad hoc analysis second, and it calls for sound judgment on AI: knowing where automation genuinely improves a reporting workflow and where it doesn’t. What you'll do:
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI datasets, data models, and dashboards — not just visuals, but the relationships and measures underneath them - Understand and be able to explain how data flows from source systems through Azure Data Factory into Fabric and into Power BI, well enough to diagnose issues independently rather than escalating every anomaly - Partner with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements and translate them into technical specs
It's a nice to have if you bring: - Direct exposure to Microsoft Fabric (lakehouses, dataflows) or Azure Data Factory - Experience owning a BI dataset/model end-to-end at a prior job, not just building on top of one someone else designed

- Document data models, datasets, and reporting logic for team continuity and QA - Actively build AI into the daily workflow — using AI tools to draft queries, DAX/Power Query logic, and documentation, and proactively identifying where AI or automation can replace manual reporting steps — while independently validating correctness before anything reaches a stakeholder - Identify and build AI-powered automation for manual reporting workflows, expanding self-service analytics and offsetting capacity constraints without added headcount
- Demonstrated ability to explain what data means and where it comes from, not just how to reproduce a report - AI-native fluency, demonstrated rather than claimed: able to build AI tools into daily BI workflows (query drafting, DAX/Power Query, documentation, automation), independently validate their output before it reaches a stakeholder, and bring a practical sense of what these tools are and aren't good at It's a nice to have if you bring:

New Analyst postings at the employers we follow are up 19% over the last 5 weeks compared with the 5 before.
Each bar is one week of new postings. The darkest bars are the last 5 weeks.
Counted from the hiring pages we’ve followed for at least five weeks, so employers we add don’t look like growth. Updated weekly.
We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.
Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.
Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.
Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.
Competitive benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a 401k company match program.
