About the role

We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.

Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.

Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.

Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.

Hybrid / Oxford, United Kingdom

Full-time

At NIQ Consumer Panel Services, we’re committed to delivering the Full View of shopper behaviour by helping FMCG manufacturers and retailers understand how shoppers behave, what drives their choices and where the next growth opportunities lie. Our Homescan panel data gives clients a rich view of real shopper behaviour, helping them make better decisions across brand, category, range, pricing and shopper strategy.

We are looking for a Consumer Analytics Consultant to join our Consumer Analytical Solutions team. This is a client-facing role with a particular focus on designing consumer surveys and combining attitudinal insight with shopper behaviour. You will lead projects from initial scoping through to analysis and final client recommendations.

You will work closely with clients and account teams to translate business questions into robust research and analytical approaches. You will also support client opportunities by contributing to proposals, defining the scope, methodology, deliverables, timings and costs, and identifying relevant follow-on work.

Salary: 41900 GBP to 58000 GBP gross per year. Placement within the range will depend on objective criteria including experience, skills, and internal equity considerations. We are committed to equal pay and pay transparency. Remuneration decisions are made using gender-neutral and objective criteria.

Key responsibilities

· Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic analytics projects, from scope confirmation and mobilisation through to final recommendations and client adoption.

· Support client opportunities by contributing to proposals, recommending appropriate solutions and identifying relevant follow-on work. Scope projects by defining the research and analytical approach, deliverables, timings, responsibilities and costs.

· Design consumer survey studies, translating client questions into robust research approaches and questionnaires and coordinate Survey, Panel Data, Modelling, Scripting and Analytical teams around a clear delivery plan and accountabilities.

· Analyse and interpret consumer and shopper data, translating findings into compelling stories and actionable recommendations

· Develop repeatable delivery approaches, templates and best practices that improve consistency, efficiency and client experience.

What we are looking for

· Strong experience designing consumer survey studies and writing questionnaires.

· Experience delivering consumer insight, shopper research, or analytical consultancy, ideally within FMCG, retail, shopper or consumer data.

· Strong client communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make complex work easy to understand.

· Strong analytical and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn complex findings into practical recommendations.

· A collaborative, hands-on approach and willingness to work closely with technical and analytical specialists. Experience with purchase panel data would be an advantage but is not essential.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people, plans and insight together to deliver work that makes a visible difference. You will help major FMCG and retail clients turn strategic questions into action, while building repeatable approaches that deepen client relationships, create further business opportunities and strengthen NIQ’s reputation for delivery excellence.
