About the role

We file this job under Data Governance, by the work the posting describes.

Data governance staff keep a company's data accurate, documented and used within the rules. They agree what key fields mean, set up quality checks, track who owns each dataset and look after master data.

Postings ask for SQL, a governance tool such as Collibra or Informatica, knowledge of privacy and data rules, and a lot of work with other teams.

A data engineer builds the systems that move data; governance staff set and check the standards that data has to meet.

What You Can Expect

In this role, your objective is to serve as the bridge between the US B2B Supply Business teams and our Data & Architecture teams, gathering and challenging requirements and translating what the business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.

Deliverables include source-to-target mappings, business rules, transformation logic, data quality expectations, and acceptance criteria that engineers can build from with confidence. You will analyze data lineage and gaps to validate feasibility early, then own functional and user acceptance testing on the resulting data products by writing test cases, logging and tracking defects, and coordinating resolution until business users sign off and adopt the solution.

Beyond delivery, you contribute directly to our Data and AI Governance foundation by maintaining business glossaries and data dictionaries, clarifying data ownership and stewardship, documenting metadata and lineage, and defining the data quality KPIs that measure whether our information is trustworthy. Success in this position is measured by the accuracy and completeness of specifications, the quality and timeliness of releases, defect resolution and UAT sign-off rates, and the adoption of the data products you help deliver.

You will work daily with business stakeholders, product owners, and data engineers, reporting to the Director of Architecture. Work on Data Governance teams on company-wide standards, and present findings and recommendations to IT and business leadership — all while championing a team culture built on adaptability, innovative thinking, problem-solving, and a genuine thirst for learning.

What You’ll Bring

You will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Analytics, or a related curriculum

      • SQL and hands-on data analysis, profiling, and validation
      • Data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, relational structures)
      • Functional and user acceptance testing of data pipelines, reports, or analytics products
      • Agile concepts and practices (user stories, backlog grooming, acceptance criteria)
  • You will have developed a working knowledge of cloud data platforms and tooling (AWS and/or Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, S3) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • You will have established a familiarity with Data and AI governance concepts: data quality, metadata management, lineage, data classification, privacy, and responsible AI
  • You have gained exposure to Python and Big Data technologies (Spark/PySpark) sufficient to communicate effectively with engineering teams; hands-on development not required
