About the role

We file this job under Data Engineer, by the work the posting describes.

Data engineers build and run the pipelines that copy data out of apps and outside services into a warehouse or lake, and fix them when a source changes or a load fails.

Expect SQL, Python, a cloud platform, a scheduler such as Airflow, and often tools for large data such as Spark or Kafka.

An analytics engineer works one step later, turning the raw data a data engineer lands into clean tables people can query.

You’ll join the central Data Platform Team, working on the foundation of Basic-Fit’s data landscape. 

In a typical week, you might: 

build batch and streaming pipelines in Databricks

continuously improving Databricks, keeping up with the latest technologies

collaborate with analysts to improve self-service reporting

automate day-to-day work by leveraging the power of AI

migrate legacy pipelines to a modern Databricks platform

optimize performance, cost, governance, and reliability

support designing data models that are directly consumed in Power BI

This is not a “keep-the-lights-on” role. You’ll actively shape: 

scalable data architecture (Lakeflow Connect, Databricks Apps etc.)

AI and automation to improve data quality and usability

self-service analytics across the business

the future direction of our data platform

Who Are You?
