Turn data into decisions for millions of members

You don’t want to just build models.

You want your insights to be used, trusted, and acted upon.

You want to see decisions being made because of what you built.

At Basic-Fit, your data solutions support millions of members across Europe. Operations, marketing, finance and more will use what you build to make better decisions and to make our member interactions more relevant.

This Is What Your Role Looks Like

You’ll join the Data Platform Team and work side by side with the business to turn their questions into data-driven solutions. You’ll be involved in the entire lifecycle of a solution: from ideation and proof of concept to rollout and post-launch performance tracking.

In a typical week, you might:

  • explore our data together with stakeholders and translate business questions into data science solutions
  • design, develop and deploy predictive models on our Databricks platform, across a variety of domains such as operations, marketing and finance
  • set up experiments and A/B tests to measure the real impact of your solutions
  • explore how AI, LLMs and agents can create new value and improve how we work
  • present your results to stakeholders in a way that supports better decision making
  • collaborate with Data Platform Engineers, Analysts and BI Developers to bring solutions into production
  • increase data literacy and demystify data science across the business

Good ideas don’t stay in slide decks here - they get built.

The team you’ll work with

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary Data Platform Team with:

  • Data Platform Engineers
  • Analysts
  • BI Developers
  • Data Scientists

Together, you support almost every department at Basic-Fit, enabling teams to act on reliable, well-governed data.

Who Are You?

You’re an analytical thinker who can separate the signal from the noise, spot trends and turn insights into concrete actions. A self-starter with strong team and problem-solving skills. You don’t need to tick every box. You will thrive here if most of this sounds familiar:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Econometrics or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in data science
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, frameworks and packages, and experience taking models from idea to production
  • Experience developing models across different domains (e.g. operations, marketing, finance), and the flexibility to quickly get up to speed in a new business area
  • Strong skills in Python and SQL, and hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark (PySpark) for large-scale data
  • Proven experience with MLOps practices, such as experiment tracking, model deployment and monitoring (e.g. MLflow)
  • Solid knowledge of statistics: hypothesis testing, experimentation, regression, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, able to explain complex results to non-technical audiences
  • Experience with AI, such as working with LLMs and building agents, is a plus

How We Work Together

The Data Platform Product Owner is responsible for stakeholder engagement, hiring decisions, and the longer-term roadmap. Once priorities are set, you and the PO work closely together to break the roadmap down into manageable steps and drive delivery. You’ll work directly with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts, being both a technical anchor and a delivery driver for the team.

What We Offer You

At Basic-Fit, it’s not just about work, it’s about your growth. As a Data Scientist, you’ll have the freedom to make an impact and develop yourself in a dynamic environment.
