About the role

We file this job under Data Engineer, by the work the posting describes.

Data engineers build and run the pipelines that copy data out of apps and outside services into a warehouse or lake, and fix them when a source changes or a load fails.

Expect SQL, Python, a cloud platform, a scheduler such as Airflow, and often tools for large data such as Spark or Kafka.

An analytics engineer works one step later, turning the raw data a data engineer lands into clean tables people can query.

Help enterprise clients turn data into business value.

Are you a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between complex technology and business outcomes?

Orange Business is rapidly expanding its Data & AI capability in Sweden. We are looking for a Data Solutions Lead to act as the vital link between business priorities, data strategy, and cutting-edge technology. In this role, you won't just advise; you will help clients build the foundations for AI, design scalable data platforms, and turn strategic ambitions into measurable business results.

This is a unique opportunity to combine senior client advisory, technical expertise, and business development within a growing international organization.

The Role: Where Business Meets Technology

As a Data Solutions Lead, you will operate at the intersection of business, IT, and leadership. You will guide clients through the entire lifecycle of data transformation—from initial needs analysis and strategic assessment to solution design and project initiation.

Part of your time is spent as a consultant on client assignments, working closely with our clients’ teams as their trusted advisor. Being close to delivery keeps your advice grounded in reality and gives you first-hand insight into what our clients need next. The rest of your time goes into presales, business development and building our Data & AI offering.

Your Core Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Advisory: Lead senior client engagements, advising stakeholders on data strategy, platform choices, and transformation roadmaps.

  • Solution Design: Assess existing data environments to develop blueprints and target architectures that solve real-world business challenges.

  • Business Development: Partner with our Business Area Manager and Business Developer to identify new opportunities, shape our Data & AI offering in Sweden, and support tender responses/bids.

  • Stakeholder Facilitation: Lead workshops and decision forums with executive leadership to connect technical investments to business value.

  • Seamless Transition: Ensure a smooth hand-off from the advisory phase to delivery by collaborating closely with our architects, engineers, and the European Data & AI Centre of Excellence.

  • Mentorship: Share knowledge and mentor colleagues to strengthen our collective capabilities and ways of working.

Who You Are:

We are looking for a consultant-minded professional who enjoys the balance of high-level strategy and technical credibility.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: 8+ years in data, data platforms, data strategy, or related transformation work (preferably in complex enterprise environments).

  • Strategic Leadership: Proven track record of leading data initiatives from assessment through to implementation.

  • Technical Credibility: A deep understanding of modern data platforms, enabling you to challenge architectural decisions and guide clients toward optimal solutions.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to facilitate workshops and communicate value to both technical teams and C-suite executives.

  • Commercial Acumen: Experience in presales, solution development, or consultative business development.

  • Languages: Fluency in both Swedish and English (written and spoken).

  • Mobility: Willingness to travel within the Nordics and Europe as required.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Hands-on Expertise: Experience designing or building data platforms.

  • Tech Stack: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake.

  • Data Management: Knowledge of Data Governance, MDM, Data Catalogues, or Data Quality.

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in Banking/Finance/Insurance (compliance-heavy) or Manufacturing/Industrial (OT/IT convergence).

  • AI Readiness: Practical experience with AI use cases built on scalable data foundations.

  • Consulting Background: Experience in management or technology consulting and handling public procurement/tenders.

Why Join Orange Business?

This is more than a traditional consulting role. You will have a direct hand in shaping our market position in Sweden while enjoying the support of a global powerhouse.

We offer:

  • Culture: A "no-blame" environment that encourages initiative, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Variety: Diverse assignments with leading Nordic and European enterprise clients.
