Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to deliver and implement analytics strategy in one or more functional areas. Each day, you will drive data-driven strategy and decision making for predictive analytics and optimization by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). You will also showcase your expertise by building and maintaining large-scale statistical models that turn billions of data points into insights and actions.
The work model for the role is:onsite
This role is contributing to the ELDS in China. Main stakeholders are Digital System Engineer and manager.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- 1. Virtual Power Plant Trading Algorithm Development
Design and implement aggregation control algorithms and trading optimization models for Virtual Power Plants (VPP)
Research multi-objective optimization algorithms for coordinating generation, grid, load, and storage systems to support electricity market trading decisions
Develop real-time power balance and dispatch forecasting models
2. Intelligent Agent Algorithm Development
Develop distributed decision-making agents to support autonomous operation and management of microgrids
Improve the complete perception-decision-execution chain of embodied intelligent systems
3. Power Distribution Equipment Asset Health Assessment
Build device state monitoring and health assessment algorithm models
Research and implement predictive maintenance algorithms
Perform anomaly detection and fault warning using multi-source data
4. Data-Driven Application Exploration
Process time series data from power systems, perform feature engineering and model optimization
Participate in algorithm validation and implementation in real-world scenarios
5. Technology Transformation and Collaboration
Collaborate with cloud platform teams to implement algorithm engineering
Write technical documentation and algorithm white papers, and summarize best practices

Qualifications for the role
- 1. Education & Background
Full-time bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related fields
2. Programming Skills
Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Golang, or Java
Strong awareness of code standards and engineering best practices
3. Algorithm Foundation
Familiarity with common machine learning and deep learning algorithms (supervised learning, unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, etc.)
4. Data Processing
Proficiency with database tools such as PostgreSQL (PgSQL)
5. Soft Skills
Strong learning ability, communication skills, and stress tolerance / ability to work under pressure
6. Preferred Qualifications (Plus Points)
Understanding of fundamental principles of power systems or knowledge of smart grid concepts
Project experience with time series forecasting, anomaly detection, or related applications
Familiarity with energy sector application scenarios such as microgrids, virtual power plants, and demand-side response
