It’s possible with a role at Veralto’s Environmental business, where purpose meets possibility—giving you the opportunity to do meaningful work that helps protect vital resources while growing your skills and career.

At the Environmental business, a Veralto business, we help customers navigate critical challenges, including water scarcity and climate extremes, with solutions that bring greater clarity, confidence, and impact.

As part of the broader Veralto network, you’ll work alongside talented colleagues, contribute to solutions that matter every day, and have the support and opportunities to deepen your expertise, pursue your ambitions, and build a rewarding career.

Reporting to the Vice President – IT, the Director of Data, Analytics & AI will build and lead the Environmental Business’s data, analytics, and AI capability. This high-visibility role blends enterprise strategy with hands-on delivery—creating a trusted data foundation, elevating analytics, and moving practical AI solutions into production to improve decisions across commercial, finance, operations, and supply chain.

You will assess today’s environment, define the future-state strategy, establish governance, and create a scalable operating model for data and AI. You will also coach existing contributors, evaluate platforms and partners, and personally help turn the highest-value opportunities into production-ready solutions with measurable business impact.

This first-of-its-kind leadership opportunity offers significant autonomy and direct access to senior leaders across the United States and Europe. You will shape the architecture, tools, governance, and use-case portfolio—and help create a model that can influence the broader Veralto organization.

This position is part of the Environmental IT team based in Fort Collins, CO, and offers a hybrid work arrangement.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Set the Environmental Business data, analytics, and AI strategy and roadmap across Ott and Kipp & Zonen
  • Assess the current architecture, platforms, pipelines, reporting, and in-flight work; define a scalable future state
  • Build a secure, sustainable data ecosystem that connects ERP, CRM, finance, supply chain, and service data
  • Establish practical governance for data ownership, definitions, quality, access, privacy, security, and compliance
  • Standardize critical measures and strengthen self-service BI, dashboards, scorecards, and decision-ready analytics
  • Identify high-value AI and automation use cases, apply disciplined build-vs-buy decisions, and move selected solutions into production
  • Create responsible AI enablement through license governance, user education, adoption measures, controls, and ROI tracking
  • Coach and coordinate internal and contractor resources, then help shape and build the future-state team
  • Partner with senior business and functional leaders to align priorities, accelerate adoption, and deliver measurable value
  • Evaluate technology vendors and platforms to secure the right capability, scalability, and cost

The essential requirements of the job include:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field; master’s preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive data and analytics experience, including 5+ years leading teams or enterprise capabilities

  • Hands-on experience moving AI/ML or analytics solutions beyond pilots and into production
  • Strong knowledge of modern data architecture, cloud warehouses/lakehouses, ETL/ELT, APIs, BI, and the AI/ML lifecycle
  • Experience with major cloud and data platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Experience integrating and harmonizing data across ERP, CRM, finance, supply chain, and other business systems
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder influence, and business-value orientation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, scientific instrumentation, FMCG, or another product-based environment
  • Experience establishing data governance, standardizing enterprise measures, and improving data quality and pipelines
