Job Description

This is a rare opportunity to create something from the ground up.

You will own the market view, define the risk framework, lead portfolio analytics, oversee valuation methodologies, and provide the evidence base that informs major decisions on hedging, offtake, acquisitions, developments and investment strategy. You will be the trusted expert presenting insights and recommendations to executives, boards, counterparties and senior stakeholders in Australia and Spain.

What you'll be doing

  • Defining the market view that underpins pricing, valuation and investment decisions.
  • Building a best-practice portfolio analytics and risk management function.
  • Leading forecasting, valuation and scenario modelling across our renewable energy portfolio.
  • Providing trusted advice on offtake, hedging, acquisitions and new development opportunities.
  • Influencing executive and Board decisions through clear, evidence-based insights.
  • Developing the tools, systems and capability needed to support a growing business.

Required Skills and Competencies

About You

You are a commercially minded energy markets leader who combines deep technical expertise with strong business judgement.

You enjoy solving complex problems, challenging assumptions and translating market insights into clear commercial decisions. Comfortable working with detailed analysis or presenting to senior stakeholders, you know how to connect the numbers to the outcome.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience in energy markets, portfolio management, market risk, trading or revenue modelling within the NEM.
  • Deep knowledge of wholesale electricity markets and renewable energy revenue drivers.
  • Strong analytical and modelling capability, including Excel and experience with Python or R, SQL and market modelling tools.
  • Experience building reporting, valuation or risk management frameworks that drive business decisions.
  • The ability to influence technical, commercial and executive stakeholders through clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Highly regarded: Experience with PPAs, ETRM systems, storage or hybrid asset modelling, and leading analytical teams.

Why join us?

This is more than a leadership role. It's an opportunity to define how ACCIONA Energía measures value, manages risk and supports critical business decisions.

You'll build a capability from the ground up, influence strategy across the organisation, and provide the insights that guide investment, commercial and portfolio decisions. Your work will be visible, valued and instrumental in shaping the future of our Australian business.

If you're motivated by creating impact, influencing major decisions and building a capability that will leave a lasting legacy, we'd love to hear from you.

As a company that values diversity as a source of talent, we work to foster an inclusive environment that promotes respect, belonging and engagement so that all people can participate on an equal opportunity basis. We invite everyone to apply regardless of origin, circumstances, background or condition.
