About the role

We file this job under Analyst, by the work the posting describes.

Analysts answer business questions with data. They pull numbers with SQL, build reports and dashboards, and explain what changed and why to the people making decisions.

Most postings ask for SQL, spreadsheets, a dashboard tool such as Tableau or Power BI, and clear writing.

Unlike a data scientist, an analyst mostly explains what happened rather than building models that predict what will.

  • Share knowledge, contribute ideas and help the team improve its tools, standards and ways of working.
  • Build a strong understanding of Global Markets’ business priorities, processes, performance measures and data.
  • Develop trusted relationships with business users and use thoughtful questioning to uncover the decisions, problems and opportunities behind their requests.
  • Take ownership of your development by seeking feedback, building your knowledge of Global Markets and developing new technical, analytical and commercial skills.
