Insurance Technology & AI Analytics Intern, Summer 2027

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Summer Intern to join our Insurance Data and Technology team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on real-world projects involving Artificial Intelligence, data analytics, insurance operations, and risk management technology.

The intern will collaborate with business and technology professionals to develop innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, data quality, and decision-making across the insurance lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and testing of AI-powered tools and automation solutions.
• Analyze insurance, claims, and risk-related datasets to identify trends and business insights.
• Support enhancement and optimization of existing insurance technology platforms and applications.
• Participate in requirements gathering, user interviews, and solution design sessions.
• Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations using business intelligence tools.
• Document business processes, workflows, and technical solutions.
• Research emerging technology trends, including Generative AI, machine learning, and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Risk, Claims, Operations, Data Analytics, and Technology.
• Present project findings and recommendations to business leaders at the conclusion of the internship.

Potential Internship Projects

Examples of projects may include:

• Building an AI agent for document extraction and data validation.
• Enhancing insurance technology platforms and workflow automation.
• Developing predictive analytics models for claims or premium analysis.
• Creating Business Intelligence dashboards and operational reporting solutions.
• Evaluating opportunities to leverage Generative AI within insurance business processes.
• Supporting data integration and modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

• Current junior undergraduate student at an accredited four-year institution
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems
  • Data Analytics
  • Data Science
  • Business Analytics
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of databases and data analysis concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Preferred

• Experience with Python, SQL, or similar programming languages.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or data visualization tools.
• Interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• Understanding of cloud technologies and modern software development practices.
• Exposure to insurance, financial services, or risk management concepts.

Base Compensation Range:

$25.00 To $30.00 Hourly. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company’s base compensation range for this position. Actual base compensation range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
